TIm Cartmell (http://www.shenwu.com/background.htm) will be teaching a 3-day Xing Yi Quan workshop from Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th at the Jade Green Farm in Harrisburg, Missouri (near Columbia). The curriculum for this workshop will be the Shan Xi style Xing Yi Quan of Li Gui Chang (1914-2000). Over the course of the weekend Tim will go through the 5 elements and 12 animals of that style. The group will work with both forms and applications with a detailed focus on body alignments and mechanics of the form movements and the tactics and strategies of various combat applications of the movements.
The workshop will be broken down into five three-hour sessions. The first session starts Friday evening and 7:00 pm. There will be three sessions on Saturday (morning, afternoon and evening). The last session will be conducted on Sunday morning from 9:00 am to Noon. Food and lodging are available.
