The Scorpio New Moon: A Flood of Emotion

This New Moon at 28° Scorpio on November 20th arrives like a rusty lock snapping open under pressure. Scorpio always deals in depth, but this chart has the intensity turned up to a level that feels tidal. Both the Sun and Moon sit at the very end of Scorpio, merging in the final degrees where everything that has been hidden, denied, or avoided begins to rise to the surface with nowhere left to go. It is not subtle. It is not clean. It is a purge.

What makes this lunation so overwhelming is the massive cluster of retrogrades pulling the energy inward. Mercury retrograde joins the Sun and Moon in late Scorpio, pulling the mind into old wounds, old obsessions, and unfinished emotional business. Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces act like a spiritual undertow, dragging your awareness into the places you have numbed out or drifted away from. Jupiter retrograde in Cancer completes the loop, magnifying the emotional saturation. Everyone is moving backward. Everyone is stirring up the past. It’s a full-body memory.

The water trines running through this chart are extraordinary. Moon and Sun in Scorpio form harmonious channels to Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer. Taken alone, this would be a moment of deep healing, spiritual clarity, and emotional renewal. A softening. A release. It is the feeling of water remembering where to flow. The past becomes a teacher rather than a wound. Your intuition sharpens. Your emotional body expands. You can finally name what you feel.

But the calm is deceptive. Because standing directly across from the New Moon is Uranus at 29° Ta**us, retrograde and electrified. This opposition creates the shockwave. Uranus brings disruption, revelation, confrontation with what refuses to stay still. It forces truth to the surface in a way that is sudden, destabilizing, or impossible to ignore. If the water trines are the inner flood, Uranus is the lightning strike that cracks the dam.

This combination creates a moment of emotional overwhelm that is also a breakthrough. It feels like being flooded, but it is also cleansing. Everything that erupts now was already building pressure behind the scenes. The retrograde planets ensure that the story you are dealing with is not new. This is old grief, old longing, old desires, old betrayals, old dreams. Uranus simply rips away the lid.

What you gain from this New Moon is a chance to reset the emotional circuitry. The trines offer real support for healing and integration. Saturn gives shape to your feelings. Jupiter offers nourishment. Neptune opens the empathic channels. But none of that prevents the wave from coming first.

This is the New Moon where you let yourself feel what you have been holding back for months, maybe years. It is the storm that exposes what has been buried. It is also the moment when you understand why you had to feel it.

Everything that breaks open now is breaking free.

Letting go is definitely a hard lesson to be learned.....

The upcoming New Moon in Scorpio is a really potent doorway into intense transformation and ultimately freedom.

On November 20th, the New Moon will be opposed by Uranus just back into Ta**us. It will also be in a trine to Jupiter in Cancer AND Neptune/Saturn in Pisces.

Meanwhile, Mars will be in Sagittarius.

What kind of situation is this creating for us?

Well, first, Scorpio is all about enmeshment. Its where we combine our energy with others. Its where our energy system is deeply affected by another's energy system. Scorpio holds our emotional baggage and our unresolved issues that stem from abandonment and rejection, so there are a lot of "RELATIONSHIP" fears that hide in Scorpio. As a result of experiencing abandonment or rejection, we begin to erect defenses and come at life with fear, suspicion, caution and cynicism. We dont want to be humiliated or in a vulnerable position again, so we self-protect by recoiling, hiding, manipulating, or controlling. This is where fight, flight, freeze, fawn responses are born.

When trust gets broken in relationships, we compromise ourselves in so many ways. It changes us in negative ways, ultimately.

So, at this New Moon, we get to confront all the ways we compromise ourselves because of past experiences with others that left us feeling vulnerable, uncertain, in fear, out of control and exposed.

Because Uranus in Ta**us is opposing these bodies in Scorpio, this becomes about radical liberation from all those emotionally difficult things that still control us in negative ways.

Ta**us gives the ability to look after your well being. Its about stability, peace and simple basic happiness. Ta**us is about self worth, self love and self value and being able to craft and create a life that reflects that those things are in good standing.

As mentioned, Scorpio is about merging with others. Its where intimacy and trust between 2 people is possible.

If we want this to be possible, we first have to cultivate our own value and worth, OR we just might attract (Scorpio is magnetic feminine energy) relationships and partners who are carrying around a BIG sack of their own unresolved baggage, which prevents real trust and intimacy from blooming.

Here we have a common situation where 2 people project their unresolved issues onto one another, and the drama begins to play out. We re-enact all our wounds and trauma patterns with others and we think its all them, when actually the root is within our own psyche.

This is where the help of the grand water trine comes into play.

Jupiter in Cancer brings deep emotional insight. When we are willing to go within and look at our tender core, we can become more emotionally mature and responsible for our own stuff.

Saturn and Neptune in Pisces brings deep spiritual insight and also the capacity for compassion and forgiveness for our fears and transgressions AND of those close to us as well. The ability to forgive and let go clears a HUGE space for new patterns to land and NEW RELATIONSHIP dynamics to be born.

The thing is - SCORPIO holds grudges. It has A LOT of difficulty letting go of past betrayals from others. It clings to feelings of resentment, bitterness and revenge. We know these things can make us literally physically sick, AND they can also make us do bad things to ourselves and others. This is the destructiveness that Scorpio is so well known for.

So, this New Moon is here to work all this out so that we can get to a better place... so that we can free our hearts, minds, bodies, Spirits and Souls from this pain, drama and limitation once and for all.

We need to grab onto the grand water trine and accept the grace and healing that its offering us.

When we are willing to meet our pain with compassion and forgiveness, it has the chance to dissolve in the light of our loving intentions.

Mars in Sagittarius, with Mercury also retrograding there is opening the mind to other realities and possibilities beyond the negative memories and experiences that have imprinted upon our psyche. Sagittarius teaches us that we can actually be free of bo***ge when we are willing to open the mind in positive and optimistic ways, beyond the dark caverns of Scorpio.

Uranus is Ta**us is also looking to free us of the past trauma/dramas frozen in those deep Scorpionic waters.

So, while we have to face our fears at this lunar cycle, we also are being given the tools and capacities to heal, grow, transform and change our past patterns and painful experiences.

This reminds me of one of my favorite Rumi poems:

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense".

When we are willing to "empty out", we clear a space for God or a higher consciousness to enter our lives and bring to us things that we couldnt imagine because we cleave to tightly to things of the past etched into our minds.

Pisces is SOOOOO much about letting go, dissolving, redeeming, rectifying.

What in your life is calling out for a cleansing, healing, baptism, absolution and purification?

We are ALL crying out for a renewal... for a rebirth. BUT are we willing to let go of those things in the way of that?

Do you want to be free OR do you want to keep shadow boxing and rolling in the mud with the pigs? We always have a choice of drama or peace. Its all based on our willingness to live in a higher consciousness interpretation of life. When Christ said; "forgive them Father, they know not what they do" he was rooted in this higher consciousness by acknowledging that people are stuck in ignorance. The question is are you going to lower yourself and join in, which will just create a stalemate and the continuation of negative and destructive patterns and relationships dynamics.

This is the magic spiritual portal of 2025 that can clear away the debris in your mind/mind/emotions/spirit when you are willing to put your short sighted and subjective ego aside and embrace your well-being, peace and the TRUTH.

The TRUTH is that we are infinite Spirits in a body learning to awaken to that. BUT there is SO much in the way that we have to learn to let go of. If we are to bring heaven to Earth, the beauty and divine order of God's realm to this material world, we must strive to see things through the lens of higher consciousness. As Christ stated; "when you make thine eye single, your whole body shall be filled with light".

When you are willing to exalt your Spiritual sight over your limited human insight, you are FREE - unbound by the prisons you place yourself and others in with your wrong thinking based on past experiences.

Its time to come to God with "holy empty hands" in full trust and surrender.

This is first step in the start of a NEW LIFE.

Every Mercury retrograde is a myth in motion, a story about the Trickster retracing his steps through the underworld of the mind. This one begins in Sagittarius, the sign of belief, prophecy, and ideology, and ends in Scorpio, the sign of truth, secrecy, and transformation. What we say, what we think we know, and what we believe to be true are all on trial.

This retrograde is not just about miscommunication or delays. It is a pilgrimage backward through meaning itself. Mercury, messenger of gods and mortals alike, begins his descent with a torch in hand, ready to challenge what we think we know.

Phase 1: The Battle of Beliefs (Nov 9–17)

As Mercury moves backward through Sagittarius, the realm of stories, law, and philosophy, he first revisits his conjunction with Mars on November 12th. Words become weapons here. This is the battlefield of conviction, where arguments flare and rhetoric turns to fire. Sagittarian Mercury speaks in absolutes, but Mars demands proof. The tension between speaking truth and defending ego can ignite fierce debates or inspired declarations.

By November 17th, Mercury forms a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius. Hidden agendas and secret motives surface. At its perigee, when Mercury is closest to Earth, its influence grows visceral and personal. Messages hit close to home, and long-buried memories or confessions may rise unexpectedly.

Here, words carry weight. Silence can reveal as much as speech. The myth of Hermes entering Hades echoes. He becomes a psychopomp of thought, guiding us into emotional depths we normally avoid.

By November 22nd, Mercury trines Saturn and Jupiter. What was chaotic begins to clarify. Structure returns to the mind. Patterns reveal themselves. The lessons of this retrograde start to crystallize into wisdom. Saturn offers discernment, Jupiter offers grace. We begin to see why the journey mattered.

As the cycle nears completion, Mercury conjoins Venus in Scorpio on November 24th. This is the whisper after the storm, a moment when words of love, apology, or reconciliation may finally find voice. Finally, Mercury stations direct on November 29th, rising from the underworld renewed. The Trickster returns with new stories, ones less certain but far more alive. We have learned that truth is not a doctrine to defend but a process of listening, revising, and revealing.

At 8:41 a.m., Jupiter begins its retrograde in Cancer, calling us inward to re-examine what nourishment, faith, and belonging really mean. Jupiter governs our beliefs, optimism, and sense of expansion, and in Cancer those qualities flow through the heart’s need to care, protect, and be protected. When Jupiter turns retrograde, the external abundance slows down so we can tend to the inner roots of growth. It asks: have your emotional foundations been built on genuine safety, or on the illusion of control? This retrograde can surface deep ancestral patterns around family, home, and emotional dependency. The work now is to rediscover your inner sanctuary, the part of you that knows how to nurture without losing yourself.

Later, the Sun in Scorpio squares the Moon in Leo, setting off a dramatic emotional crosscurrent. The Scorpio Sun wants depth, secrecy, and transformation; the Leo Moon wants expression, warmth, and recognition.
