Talk to those struggling. A person going through an emotional battle is fighting alone. While su***de is not a subject many want to discuss or find comfortable, it is still important to make sure it is not one a loved one has been thinking of or considering. Help them by helping connect them to mental health professionals to address their pain and struggles.

Helpful information from Jackson Wellness Group for college students to better mental health.

Tips for students to maintain a healthy mental state. College students are at risk of developing serious mental health concerns.
1. Develop a support network or study groups.
2. Be active. Exercise is important and helps ward off depressive symptoms.
3. Eat well and drink water. Choose a variety of nutritious food. Don’t miss any meals.
4. Get enough sleep. Go to sleep at a reasonable hour and wake up around the same time every day. Keep your room dark and quiet at night.
5. Study early and take frequent short breaks. .
