There are some days that just make you stop and smile and today is one of them. Rotary Club - Columbia TN Noon has announced January 19, 2026 as “Dr. Rufus R. Clifford Jr. Day,” and we couldn’t be more honored to share it.

From the exam room to the community, he has always shown up with compassion, humility, and heart. Dr. Clifford, we are so honored to celebrate you. Congratulations, and happy 90th birthday! ❤️

On January 19, 2026, Rotary International District 6760 will proudly celebrate Dr. Rufus R. Clifford Jr. Day in honor of an extraordinary man who has devoted his life to caring for others.

Dr. Clifford has spent more than 55 years as a physician, including service in the U.S. Air Force, and has cared for thousands of children and families across Columbia, Maury County, and Southern Middle Tennessee. His compassion, dedication, and steady presence have made a lasting impact on generations of families in our community.

Since joining the Columbia Rotary Club in 1987, inspired by Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio, Dr. Clifford has truly lived the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” From serving as Club President to leading as District Governor for all of Middle and West Tennessee, he has been a tireless champion for people in need, both locally and around the world.

As Dr. Clifford celebrates his 90th birthday surrounded by his wife Margaret, family, and loved ones, Rotarians across the district will pause to recognize a lifetime of leadership, generosity, and heart for service.

Thank you, Dr. Clifford, for the lives you’ve touched, the community you’ve strengthened, and the example you’ve set for us all. 💙
