Our Galen Health Fellows Living & Learning Community consists of students who are interested in diverse careers and pathways within the health profession. Our students’ majors vary but most have a designation of health science focus such as Biological Sciences, Exercise Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work. One of the primary goals of this community is to prepare students to be culturally competent and holistically trained future health care providers. Related Majors:

The USC Galen Health Fellows Living & Learning Community is partnering with Prisma Health Parkridge Hospital for a unique, cutting-edge educational experience featuring Dr. Jeff Guy, USC’s team orthopedic surgeon. During this special session, Galen students will observe a live ACL reconstruction surgery broadcast on large screens in a classroom setting, with the opportunity to interact directly with Dr. Guy as he explains the procedure in real time. This experience highlights the strong collaboration between the University of South Carolina, Galen Health Fellows, and Prisma Health, showcasing innovative learning opportunities that connect students with leading medical professionals in a real-world clinical environment.

Good morning Galen Health Fellows, we hope you are having a great day so far! Our ACL surgery observation has moved to next Wednesday, March 4th. If you already signed up please check your email and make sure to let us know if you can still attend! If you are on the waitlist also keep an eye on your email as we will start pulling from the list to fill the spots for those who can no longer attend. We still be traveling to Parkridge Hospital, and will be in a classroom that is linked virtually to the OR watching Dr. Jeff Guy. This event will last from 7 - 10:30 AM and a shuttle will be provided!

Good afternoon from Galen! We are so happy to announce that the Dean of USC Nursing will be giving a personal tour of their Clinical Education Building! This will give you an inside scoop of where Upper Division nursing students have class and learn new skills, preparing them for professional practice! This will be on Tuesday, February 24th from 2-3 p.m. at the location listed on the flyer! Don’t forget to RSVP on Garnet Gate! We hope to see y’all there!!
