This month, we’re proud to highlight Dr. Gwendolyn Cobbs and her team at Kingdom Healthcare in Myrtle Beach for their compassionate and community-driven approach to care. Offering free checkups, counseling, transportation, and spiritual support, Dr. Cobbs ensures that patients not only receive services, but they also feel truly cared for.

Lavetra recalls touching moments when patients, initially unsure if the MAP program was real, later expressed gratitude after being approved for free prescriptions. That trust and connection are made possible by community champions like Dr. Cobbs who go above and beyond to make sure no one is overlooked. We are grateful for this meaningful partnership and inspired by Kingdom Healthcare’s unwavering commitment to hope, healing, and health access.

We’re proud to announce an exciting new resource from Welvista’s Medication Assistance Pharmacy: an interactive search tool on our website designed to connect patients with medical providers in their communities.

The providers featured in this tool are not only local healthcare professionals—they are valued Welvista partners who regularly send prescriptions to our pharmacy, helping ensure patients get the medications they rely on quickly and efficiently

We recently had the opportunity to meet with Samoné Howard, Health Coordinator Liaison with the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina. Their work supporting individuals with brain injuries, and advancing prevention, research, education, and advocacy, is both critical and inspiring.

One of the many powerful insights we learned: the American Academy of Periodontology notes that chronic gum inflammation is linked to an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. A reminder of how interconnected our health truly is, and the importance of the care, treatment, and early intervention that our Smiles for a Lifetime team is so committed to.

We look forward to continued collaboration with Samoné and her team and supporting the Brain Injury Association’s efforts and working to be a vital resource for their communities across South Carolina.

We had the pleasure of hosting Javin Peterson, Executive Director and Founder of Shepherd’s Gate Health, for a Lunch & Learn at our facility. Javin shared the heart behind their Food Pharmacy Program, a model that weaves access to healthy foods and nutrition support directly into patient care. Their work is making a real difference for individuals managing chronic conditions across the Charlotte Metro, York County, and Lancaster County communities. We're excited to watch their program continue to grow, and even more excited about the possibilities for partnership as we work together to support patients holistically, addressing their needs from both a wellness and pharmaceutical standpoint.
