Finding stillness in a noisy, messy world is so important. This can happen in complete silence before the kids wake up, as the sun comes up you feel the warmth of the sun on your face. With the hum of patrons around you at the car dealership waiting for your car. While the foils are folded at the hairdresser while she works on your hair color. While the birds chirp and dogs bark on a public park bench. Stillness can be found wherever you are.. close your eyes, notice your breath, concentrate on the tip of your nose and the path of your breath traveling in and out. 💭
Thoughts will bubble up, notice them and let them float away like a balloon drifting into the sky. 🎈

Cat & Cow pose (Marjaryasana & Bitilasana) I prefer practicing yoga in the AM before I eat, but today my schedule was bananas 😅 If you are able to make it to the mat a few hours after dinner, Cat and Cow stimulates your organs including the gastrointestinal tract! If you can comfortably be on the floor with shoulder above wrist and hip above knee, join me on the floor. If that feels like too much today in your body, take a comfortable seat (or even a break at your desk tomorrow after lunch!) CAT〰️INHALE〰️expand chest and tailbone away from each other with arched back in an effort to make a circle shape with the back of your head reaching for the tailbone. COW〰️EXHALE〰️contract pull belly to spine in an effort to meet nose to belly button. Continue a few cycles flowing with breath to experience the benefits of this asana 🐈 🐄

Extended Side Angle〰️Utthita Parsvakonasana〰️(oo-TEE-tah parsh-vah-cone-AHS-anna)〰️ Begin with feet 3-4 feet apart. INHALE-Front foot pointing at top of mat, back foot perpendicular with arch of foot aligned with the heel of front foot. EXHALE- bend into front knee with an effort to be bent at a right angle, elbow rests on knee, chest stays aligned with long edge of mat. INHALE- opposite arm reaches above head toward corner of the room careful to keep shoulder away from ears, eyes follow. Stay for a few breaths each exhale deeper into knee, each inhale taller with chest and upper arm. Modifications include finding a bind under knee or using a chair for balance and security. Wherever you are in this pose today, be sure to do both sides to even out 🫣😂 Now go get caffeinated to survive this rainy Wednesday ☕️ ☔️
