The detail you skim today might be the one you need in a real emergency tomorrow. Sedation is holistic—pharmacology, monitoring, and protocols connect in ways that matter when seconds do. Read everything, even the parts you think you know cold.

If you can’t explain it clearly and simply, you don’t own it yet. Close the gaps and build true confidence.

𝗦𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗛. 𝗦𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧. 🧠
Cramming creates shallow understanding—and shallow understanding collapses under pressure. Study in short, focused blocks (30–45 minutes), then take a real break.

Move slowly enough that you could teach the concept to a colleague; teaching is proof of mastery. On exam day (and chairside), the calm, deliberate learner performs best. Slow down now to speed up when it counts.

Our Story

After graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry (now Texas A&M University School of Dentistry) in 1980, and the Washington University School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1994, Allan Schwartz, DDS CRNA recognized the opportunity to advance the education of fellow dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, and students, and founded Sedation Consult, LLC.

For over 7 years, Sedation Consult hosts classes and seminars on Monitoring Sedated Patients, Nitrous Oxide (N2O) analgesia, and a host of other courses. We pride our practice on furthering education surrounding subjects pertaining to dental sedation anesthesia and analgesia.
