Williams Funeral Home & Crematory Williams Funeral Home is family operated since 1935. We also help plan ahead for funeral expenses. Pet cremations and pet services are available on request.

We have an on-property crematory serving families that have chosen cremation services or traditional funeral arrangements. Since 1935, Williams Funeral Home & Crematory has provided custom funeral packages designed to celebrate life and serve families. This family-operated business is more than an essential funeral home. All funeral directors are also Certified Celebrants; they work with each fami

ly to provide personalized consulting and guidance to ensure that the event is both meaningful and respectful. Funeral packages cover every detail required for a quality event. The caring staff take pride in the family-focused approach used when designing funeral services. Funeral packages can always be customized to include visitations, graveside services, military honors, caskets, and more. Families can choose from traditional funeral offerings, or design a less-formal event such as a life celebration or memorial. Williams Funeral Home & Crematory has owned and operated an on-site crematory for over 20 years. Unlike most other funeral homes that advertise cremation services and subcontract to other providers, the team at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory assures that their own licensed and certified employees will handle all details of the cremation. Direct cremation is available for families who want to simplify the services. Or, cremation can be combined with a memorial service or celebration of life. The original funeral home was established in 1935 on Seventh Street in Columbia. In 2012, a tragic fire destroyed much of the building. But the bomb-shelter style construction in the basement protected precious items, including paperwork and files. The funeral home has been rebuilt, and the team is now proud to offer two locations for convenience. Williams Funeral Home & Crematory provides services for families throughout Maury County, including Columbia, Mt. Pleasant, Spring Hill, Lawrenceburg, and Pulaski. The funeral home holds memberships with several industry organizations, including the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA), The Southern Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association (SCCFA), and the Cemetery Association of Tennessee (CAT). James Vernon Beardsley

James Vernon (Jim) Beardsley, Sr. formerly of Sterling, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, on July 14, 2025.

Born April 18, 1937, to the late Glenn and Tina Beardsley, Jim lived a life defined by integrity, dedication, and excellence in everything he did. A U.S. Navy veteran and retired air traffic controller, he was best known for his long and accomplished career as an umpire, officiating games across a wide range of leagues, including high school, college, and semiprofessional baseball. Proud highlights of his career included umpiring at the Little League World Series and induction into the Lower Loudoun Little League Hall of Fame, honors he held with great pride and humility.

Beyond the baseball field, Jim was a man of many talents. He was a gifted woodcarver whose detailed and soulful work brought joy to many. His patience and precision extended into every carving he created. He was also a proud 32nd Degree Master Mason, finding meaning and community in his fraternal service.

His other community service included coaching youth baseball and football, as well as his membership with the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his stepfather Duane Brigham; his siblings Christina (Teeny) Burnett, Teri Kolet, and Timothy Brigham; grandson Joshua Shortt; and great-grandson Tanner Beardsley.

Jim Beardsley is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Arline Beardsley; his sons, Jim Beardsley, David Beardsley, Don Beardsley, and Larry Beardsley; and a large, loving group of grandchildren and great- and great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his stories, lessons, and lively presence.

In every game called, in every block of wood carved, and in every life he touched, Jim Beardsley leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and quiet strength.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, allowing friends and family to come together in remembrance and gratitude for a life well-lived.

Cheryl Paige Que -

Beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, Cheryl Paige Que passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her cherished family. Friends and supporters in Spring Hill, Tennessee, lifted her up with constant prayers and countless acts of kindness, charity, and goodwill.

Born on February 5, 1992, in Boynton Beach, Florida, Cheryl was the second daughter of Zoraida and Edward Que. She was raised in a warm and nurturing home alongside her older sister, Daphne. Cheryl graduated from Atlantic Community High School’s International Baccalaureate Program. She loved her hometown of Delray Beach, playing beach volleyball, and working near the ocean at Pizza Rustica and Sushi Bon.

Cheryl began college at the University of Florida, then returned home to continue her education in South Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Drawn to Tennessee—another place close to her heart—she moved there to pursue her graduate degree. Cheryl earned her Nurse Practitioner’s license from Vanderbilt University, where she was offered a position in the hospital’s Plastics Program. There, she formed strong bonds with many colleagues who would become lifelong friends.

In 2019, Cheryl’s life was forever blessed by the birth of her daughter, Cameryn, who was and always will be the center of her world.

Outside of her deep devotion to motherhood, Cheryl lived a life full of passion and adventure. She loved staying active, whether through hiking Tennessee’s scenic trails, scuba diving, snow skiing, snowboarding, or chasing after her spirited dog, Gunner.

Anyone who got to know Cheryl would be taken in by her naturally laid-back humor and approach to life. Her fresh but polite expressions would both catch you off guard and cause you to laugh — all uniquely Cheryl.

At home, her favorite moments were the quiet ones spent reading a good book or cuddling up to watch a movie with Cameryn.

Cheryl is survived by her beloved daughter Cameryn; her parents, Zoraida and Edward Que; her sister Daphne and brother-in-law Stephen Lankau; her niece Mia and nephew Stephen Jr.

She had a rare gift for connecting with and caring for others in a way that made you feel deeply seen and loved. Cheryl embodied strength, perseverance, and grace, especially in her final year.

Her kind heart, generous spirit, sweet nature, and radiant energy will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
