Leonard Cory Mendryga

November 30, 1956 to November 23, 2025

Born in Detroit, Michigan, and most recently living in Lapeer, Michigan, Leonard lived a life marked by resilience, loyalty, and a quiet strength shaped by the hard roads he walked. He spent many years as a roofer, working for several companies and earning a reputation for being tough, dependable, and never afraid of hard work. He also worked for GM for a time and loved telling the story of the day he nearly got into it with his foreman, a tale that always brought laughter.

Leonard had a deep love for music, especially the grunge and hardcore scenes in Detroit. He often went to St. Andrew’s Hall, sharing those nights of loud music and raw energy with the people he cared about most.

He became well known in the online ferret community, where his compassion made a lasting impact. Many people reached out to him when a ferret needed help, and he always made sure each one was safe, cared for, and placed in a good home. His kindness touched far more lives than he ever realized.
