Elsa 🩵

“Sweet, sweet Elsa. She captured our hearts when she was 6 months old at the Muskingum County Animal Shelter. We were searching for an “older” dog to fill a void in our heart after losing our soul dog, Heidi, in 2017, and when we rounded the corner and saw this ball of white fluff…we knew then that SHE was the one! We didn’t go in looking for a puppy but we left that day on a new adventure.

An adventure we could have never predicted or expected to go and end the way it did. We had no breed experience with Great Pyrenees but boy oh boy did Elsa train us well! She had all the common traits of GPs… independent thinker, lover of cold weather, giver of the “Pyr Paw”, double dew claws, couch potato, escapee, and gentle, gentle giant. The only GP quality she did not possess was “livestock guardian”. She was a guardian of nothing. She was everyone’s friend. The strangest stranger could have walked in our house and she would have greeted them with a warm hug. Such a sweet girl.

Over the years, Elsa affectionately earned the nicknames of Elle, Elsa Belsa, Elsa Faith, Faith, IDGAF, PITA, Fluffy, Egg Thief, and probably many more.

Other than being sweet, Elsa’s other most prominent trait was eating. Everything. EVERYTHING. Over the years, we kept a running list of “Things Elsa’s Eaten”. (Check the FULL list on her beautiful Tribute!)

Every day with our pets is a blessing, as with any other member of the family. Elsa was only 8 years old. She had been battling seizures the last couple of years, but they had been fairly well-controlled with medication. Our guess is that’s what happened this morning. No one was home to witness, but it appeared that that’s maybe what happened and there was no evidence of suffering. We pray she went quick and was in the arms of Jesus before she had a chance to feel pain or fear. Elsa baby, we love you and we will miss you so much! 🌈🐶🩵” — Remembered by The Gardner Family

Mia came into our lives at just 6 weeks old on Father’s Day 2013. As a pup, she was an ornery ball of energy. We had so many single shoes because Mia had managed to destroy their mates.

Rex wasn’t just our doggo… he was part of our family. He was our protector and our goofy boy who was always good for a laugh! He loved to play fetch and go for walks in our woods. He was our first dog…

Audrey 🩵

In Loving Memory of Audrey: With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our beloved family member, Audrey, who passed away peacefully at home at almost 15 years old, having graced our lives with unconditional love and boundless joy. Audrey was not just a pet but a cherished companion, our faithful friend throughout life’s journey.

As our second family member, Audrey shared innumerable treasured memories with us, witnessing the growth of our family, including the arrival of three beautiful babies. Her presence filled our home with laughter, warmth, and an abundance of love. Audrey had a personality that was truly one of a kind – scared of everything but loyal to the end and endlessly affectionate. She had an innate ability to brighten even the darkest of days, radiating positivity wherever she went.

In Audrey, we found not just a pet, but a member of our family who enriched our lives beyond measure. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. We are grateful for the precious moments we shared with Audrey, for the love and light she brought into our lives. May she rest in peace, knowing she was a true light for our family.” — Remembered by Heath and Amanda Horning
