Last night marked a special milestone for TranscenDance as we ventured into our first-ever hip-hop contemporary fusion class!

Blending these two styles has been an exciting challenge, and I’m so proud of the dedication and enthusiasm each of these amazing women brought to the floor. They embraced the choreography, learned new skills, and revisited familiar moves with such passion.

It’s been awesome to share this journey with this group week after week, and it’s definitely one of the highlights of my time here.

Chair dance is a powerful channel for movement, and it’s inspiring to see how it empowers students. Learning choreography and developing spatial awareness while balancing on a metal chair is HARD! Many of these women are stepping out of their comfort zones, some for the very first time, and it’s impressive to witness their determination for learning something new!

Navigating these moves requires not just physical strength but also the courage to confront the fear of falling. It takes a lot of bravery to trust yourself on a chair, and I want to give a big shout-out to all the ladies in class this past Monday. BADASSES🔥

Looking ahead, on Monday, September 15th, I’ll be offering an advanced chair class. This class is for those ready to take on new challenges—definitely a “sign up at your own risk” kind of adventure! If you’re excited about pushing your limits with some more advanced moves, stay tuned for the registration link, which will be available soon!

I am absolutely blown away by the group from last night! These talented ladies mastered this creepy and challenging choreography in just two hours. It’s been a pleasure working alongside both seasoned members of the group and fresh faces. The atmosphere is so uplifting and supportive, and everyone is eager to learn. This dance was definitely a challenge, but you all absolutely nailed it!

Join us for Show Me Burlesque next Wednesday, the 30th! Don’t miss the heels class on August 4th and another chair class on August 11th! All with as the instructor.

A big shoutout to for fostering such a welcoming and enjoyable environment at your studio—our home away from home!

AUGUST POP-UP CLASSES
Mondays | 6:30PM – 8:30PM

August 4th – High With Hanna Heels | Beginner to Intermediate Level | A sexy and sensual heels class set to upbeat music, blending elements of heels and hip hop for all levels. Choreography will be adapted to match each dancer’s comfort and experience. High heels are encouraged but never required. Come as you are and dance with confidence.

August 11th – Sitting Pretty Chair Class Chair | Beginner to Intermediate Level | Learn fun tricks and choreography that empower confidence and strength through chair-based movement. Some dance experience and strength can be helpful. Just bring your energy and a willingness to move.

August 18th – ContempoHop *NEW CLASS*Hip Hop Contemporary | Intermediate Level |
An energetic class that blends dynamic hip hop moves with the expressive flow of contemporary dance. The vibrant be ignite your energy, blending pop and lock with smooth moments of flow.

Last night’s High with Hanna Heels class was a sexy success! It’s incredible how supportive this community is and how ready everyone is to take on new challenges with fresh choreography. Time flew by as we danced and had a blast together!

Next Wednesday, we’ll have a chair class, followed by a burlesque class the Wednesday after that. Then, we’ll kick off Mondays in August with even more fun! Mark your calendars for August 4, August 11, and August 18—registration will open soon! We can’t wait to see familiar faces and welcome new friends to join us!!

As we reflect on our incredible April showcase, it’s clear that the magic of this event extended well beyond the group numbers we learned. Several talented soloists took center stage, stepping up to express their creativity through captivating individual performances. Each solo was uniquely choreographed by the dancers themselves, adding a beautiful touch of personal expression to the show. We are still riding the high from our first Showcase at last night. There’s so much to say, but I’ll keep it brief.We are truly overwhelmed by the incredible support from everyone who came out to cheer us on. The energy from the audience was SO ENERGETIC! Your cheers, applause, and enthusiasm—standing on your seats and even showering us with money—made it one of the most exhilarating experiences we could have imagined. We are immensely grateful for YOU, our audience!I’ll be making a separate post to highlight the amazing women of the show, as they deserve special recognition. I’m still filled with pride over how everything turned out, and we have some fantastic photos and videos coming your way soon for you to enjoy! Thank you once again! We are just getting started. 🔥
