🌕✨ Happy Sturgeon Moon! ✨🌕

Full moons have a way of lighting up more than just the night sky they illuminate our energy, our emotions, and our intentions. The Sturgeon Moon, named after the abundance of sturgeon fish traditionally caught in late summer, reminds us of patience, resilience, and the rewards of staying the course.

Tonight, the last full moon of summer — the Sturgeon Moon — will rise, glowing with a rich golden hue that has inspired legends for centuries. Its name comes from Native American traditions, marking the time when sturgeon fish were most abundant in the Great Lakes and other North American waters.

This celestial beauty will reach peak illumination at 3:55 AM ET, but its mesmerizing glow will be visible throughout the night. Under clear skies, you’ll see it hanging low above the horizon at moonrise, appearing larger and warmer in color before climbing higher into the night.

Spent time at the Second Open Barn Day with CAFS, and once again, I was deeply reminded of something that should be simple but is so often overlooked: animals feel love, fear, joy, and pain, just like we do.

Being close to them, hearing their rescue stories, and seeing that quiet peace in their eyes when they realize they’re finally safe… it stirs something deep in your soul. It’s a kind of connection that words can’t fully capture. Every living being deserves to be loved and treated with compassion—no less than we wish for ourselves.

These animals are not here for us. They’re here with us. And they deserve lives filled with freedom, safety, and dignity. Thank you Compassionate Acres Farm Sanctuary for being a place where healing begins, where love is loud, and where every animal is finally seen for who they are and always have been.
