ALN Psych & Behavioral Health LLC is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for its brand new out-patient clinic in Columbus, Ohio!
At ALN Psych & Behavioral Health Clinic, our focus is to ensure every person suffering from mental health/substance use disorders receives optimal care without fear of stigmatization or discrimination. Our vision is to ensure all individuals suffering from mental health disorders regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender through treatment engagement become productive and contributing members of their communities.
The Medical Office Assistant will work closely with a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to ensure all patients are provided with quality care and service. The medical assistant will be the first point of contact for patients and therefore must create an extraordinary patient-centered experience.
Hours: M-F 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Hourly rate: $13 - $15 negotiable with experience
As a Medical Assistant you will:
-Greet and check in patients
-Obtain patient vital signs
-Schedule patient appointments via medical scheduling software
-Handle patient information (medical history, insurance & billing)
-Collect payments
-Take incoming calls and make outgoing patient calls
-Check out patients and follow up on visits
-Keep front desk and waiting area clean
Education:
-High School diploma or equivalent is required.
-Associates degree, preferred
Work Experience:
-Previous customer service experience is required.
-Office or health care-related experience, preferred
Skills & Abilities:
-Professional verbal and written communication skills
-High level of computer literacy and internet knowledge
-Some medical terminology knowledge
-Friendly personality and positive attitude
-Strong relationship building skills with patients and staff
-Ability to empathize with others
-Organized and reliable
