It's Culinary Art Month, and today's Picnic on the Patio was a feast for the eyes and taste buds! Despite the weather moving us inside to Jack’s Cafe, Chef Bob prepared delicious salads with beets and goat cheese, flat bread topped with prosciutto and arugula, drizzled with a fig glaze, and a blueberry crumble with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Our residents loved every bite! 💖

Today was amazing! 🎉 We kicked off our fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter with a Forget Me Not Food Truck visit, and it was a hit! Cousins Maine Lobster - Columbus, OH & Graeter's Ice Cream served up deliciousness while generously donating to this worthy cause. 🦞🍦 Thank you to our residents and the community for coming out to support!

We had the best time today at Sharon Woods with the Metro Parks Senior Program! 🎣

Bill came ready with his fishing license, Rob wore his lucky fishing shirt, and Connie—at 99 years young—caught a bluegill! The weather couldn’t have been better, with a perfect breeze and plenty of sunshine. To top it all off, Chef Bob packed us a delicious picnic to enjoy by the water.

We’re already looking forward to our next fishing outing next month!

Our residents tried their hands at diamond art for Crafting Connections this weekend. Diamond art is where small, resin “diamond” beads are applied to a sticky canvas, creating a mosaic-like image. The group decorated various ornamental plant stakes to adorn houseplants.🪴💎

We had some very special guests at The Bristol last week! Carol from Alliance of Therapy Dogs stopped by with Sky, her certified Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and Murphy, a Golden Retriever currently in training to become a certified therapy dog.

These four-legged friends brought so much joy and comfort to our community. Thank you, Carol, Sky, and Murphy! We can’t wait to see you again.

It’s Culinary Arts Month and Chef Bob made a delicious meal! It started with bacon and corn chowder, followed by grilled pork medallions with a herb chimichurri sauce made basil, oregano, chives and a little mint from the herb garden planted and tended by our Green Thumb Club. 😋

Creativity was in full bloom this week at The Bristol! Amanda from The Community Studio led a wonderful watercolor class, where residents explored their artistic side by painting everything from tropical landscapes to dreamy nightscapes.

This Fine Art Class is offered on the third Tuesday of each month in our Community Experience Room—and it's quickly becoming a favorite! We’re grateful to Amanda for guiding such a fun and inspiring session.

We’re proud to partner with Ohio University’s Physician Assistant Program to support hands-on learning for future healthcare professionals. First-year PA students are participating in a unique educational opportunity here at The Bristol, gaining valuable experience in conducting physical exams and medical history assessments.

We’re honored to play a role in shaping the next generation of compassionate healthcare providers.

Last Friday, we hosted our second live music performance for our Summer Concert Series during happy hour. Roger Dearwester sang the classics, including songs from Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and Neil Diamond. He is a great entertainer and our residents truly enjoyed the show! 🎤🎼

The second Sunday of every month, we enjoy a melodious Happy Hour with our resident favorite, Steve! 🎸🥳 He strums his guitar and sings all of our favorite tunes.

In this Crafting Connections activity, we decoupaged cylinder vases that can be used to hold flowers, candles or even pens and pencils. Stewie, a blind rescue owned by the sister of a resident, often joins us for these purrr-fect activities at The Bristol.

Last week, our friends at At Your Door: Visiting Healthcare Services treated residents to a fun-filled Ice Cream Social! Residents created their own sundaes with all the toppings, and we had the pleasure of welcoming Rachel, PNP, who was introduced to our community during the event. It was a sweet afternoon of connection, conversation, and plenty of whipped cream!
