Consistency is probably the most important parameter of any physical activity and wellness plan. Not load, volume, type of exercise, speed, duration, etc. (although these obviously impact outcomes as well).

The number one thing to master is finding a way to sustainably move your body and make this a part of your identity. Become the person who moves.

This is where change happens. Not overnight but over time. You’ll be amazed what can happen when you make movement habit.

Spine Align is quickly becoming our most popular class. We have yet to find anything quite like it anywhere else.

This class is for everyone, but especially if you:

-sit for your job
-have chronic low back or neck pain
-have pelvic floor tension and pelvic pain
-struggle with posture
-have scoliosis
-have hypermobility or connective tissue disorders
-have core imbalances or weaknesses

In this class we target:

✅ alignment: position the body and prime your muscles to get more out of your exercise investment
✅ stability: find your deep core to provide the spine with the balanced support it needs
✅ spinal articulation: learn the principle of segmental motion to promote optimal spine health
✅ mobility: find mobility in the shoulders and hips to stop stealing motion from and placing stress on the spine
✅ multiplanar movement: move the spine safely with control through flexion, extension, side bending, and rotation to maintain flexibility and control at any age

As one of our members recently said: “This is better than physical therapy!” We don’t know if we’d go that far, but the class is led by physical therapists and is essentially group rehab for the spine. Only four participants per class to enhance the individualized instruction!

Change takes consistency and time, but it is amazing what progress our committed community members have experienced. How would it feel to begin that journey today? What would it cost to wait?

Better Begins Today.
We hope to see you there!

Do you think you need to do Kegels?

Are you leaking urine?
Having urgency?
Difficulty holding in gas?
Noticing a bulge at the opening or heaviness in the pelvis?
Having pain in the pelvis, va**na, or re**um?

Important truths to understand:

1. Kegels are not a substitute for pelvic floor therapy
2. Kegels should not be the only component of a pelvic floor therapy treatment plan
3. Kegels are not for everyone
4. Many people do not properly perform Kegels without guidance, training, and supervision
5. Kegels can be very helpful for some people.

All of these can be true at the same time.

Is it confusing? Yes.

Find an expert to help you assess your individual needs and design a plan that makes sense for your body and goals TODAY. Your needs can change over time. Maybe Kegels were right for you at one point but now they are no longer appropriate. OR maybe Kegels were not right for you before but today they are just what you need to kickstart the system.

Find a specialist. Get answers. You deserve it.

You deserve to feel as comfortable as possible during your rehabilitation. At Core Moves we strive to create a calming and supportive environment for treatment so you can focus on getting well.

If you have pelvic pain, internal pelvic floor muscle massage may be a key component of your recipe to healing. However, holding your legs propped up for an entire session can be exhausting on the hips. With our pelvic rehab specific table, we can adjust your positioning and prop your legs to find optimal relaxation and comfort.

In our modern lives, we must make a conscious effort to carve out time for rest.

Stress is stress. Exercise is stress. Work is stress.

Come down out of the frenzy for a time.

Balance the scales. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

Spine Align is another one of Core Moves’ group class offerings that focuses on spine health and postural alignment. So much of our day to day keeps us in the same few positions. Think of your typical day.

Are you:
-sitting typing at a desk
-driving with the right leg extended and turning the wheel with your dominant hand
-sleeping on your side or belly with your head turned to one side
-playing a ball sport like tennis or golf

It is ok to do asymmetrical things and it is ok to use our devices (tablets, phones, computers), etc. However, the body needs variable movements as positioning.

The best posture is the one that changes and is fluid. We do not want to become prisoners in our own bodies. Like Joseph said, “If you are 30 and your spine is stiff you are old. If you are 60 and your spine is mobile you are young.”

Let’s stay young, folks!!!
