Did You Know? The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is a highly effective cancer prevention tool that protects against the HPV types most commonly responsible for gynecologic cancers, including cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.

If you are between the ages of 9 and 45, talk to your doctor about the HPV vaccine.

The older women get, the higher their risk of developing vulvar cancer. In fact, more than half of invasive vulvar cancer cases occur in patients older than 70 years old.

Refer to the image and review the vulvar cancer self-check list for some precancerous/cancerous symptoms. If you have any of these symptoms, talk to your doctor or healthcare provider.

Vaginal cancer is rare, and unfortunately, the symptoms of this cancer are hard to spot in the early stages. But if there are symptoms, they may include vaginal discharge or bleeding, having blood in the stool or urine, going to the bathroom more often than usual, feeling constipated, or pain in your pelvis.

See your doctor if you have persistent symptoms that are not normal for you.

The risk for uterine cancer increases with age. Despite experiencing similar rates of uterine cancer, mortality rates for Black women are higher than for white women.

Sharing these common symptoms for uterine cancer on this image can help women to be more aware of these signs and diagnosed at an earlier stage.

Ovarian Cancer is the leading cause of death among gynecologic cancers. There is currently no good screening for Ovarian Cancer.

If you experience any of these symptoms for Ovarian Cancer: bloating, urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency), pelvic or abdominal pain, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly for more than a few weeks, it is important to talk to your doctor.

Signs and symptoms of cervical cancer may include pain during s*x; lower back pain; constant fatigue; painful urination; and unusual vaginal discharge or bleeding.

These symptoms do not mean you have cervical cancer, but if you are experiencing any of them, you should see your healthcare provider about as soon as possible.
