Do you know what a UV Index (UVI) is? It’s a number that tells you how strong the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays are. Why is it important? Because exposure to UV rays can damage your skin and eyes if you don’t use proper protection, like sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and clothing. The scale runs from 1 to 11+, and the higher the UV rating for the day, the more sun protection is needed if you’re going to be outdoors. You can check the UVI in your area each day on your smartphone’s weather app or online: https://www.weather.gov/ilx/uv-index

On June 19, we proudly sponsored more than 150 community children and partners for a special day at the Great American Ball Park in celebration of Community Partner Appreciation/Cincinnati Reds Camp Day.

Among the smiling faces in the stands were Renee Mahaffey-Harris, President & CEO of The Health Gap, and her father James Mahaffey (age 82)—a beautiful reminder of how community, family and wellness go hand in hand.

We were honored to host incredible organizations, including BLOC Ministries, Rosemary's Babies Co., Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority, Healthy Moms & Babes, Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses - Findlay Street Center and staff from Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Mercy Health.
