House Bill 144, also known as Keith's Law, went into effect in Ohio on January 19. The law improves interactions between first responders and people with disabilities. It does this by giving first responders advance information about a person's specific needs.

Winter weather is making a comeback this week with gusty winds and bitterly cold temperatures in the forecast. Older adults and those who care for them may want to take extra steps to ensure they have what they need, such as:

✅ Non-powered options for equipment that will not work without electricity;
✅ A battery-operated radio, a flashlight, extra batteries, and extra blankets;
✅ Ask a reliable family member, friend or neighbor to check in on you to make sure you are okay.
