In the midst of darkness, light persists. —Mahatma Ghandi

Such a heavy week of indescribable loss. So much collective sorrow. Still, we have opportunities daily to let our internal light shine. Brightly. I’m committed to shining today. I hope you are too—through it all. 💫

International Bereaved Mother’s Day is observed on the first Sunday in May. It’s a time for us to pause and honor—not pity—mothers who have experienced the loss of a child.

For mothers with empty arms but hearts full of love.

For mothers who feel love and joy in motherhood but also grieve the loss of the unknown. The moments they hoped to enjoy with their precious children.

For mothers who feel isolated—unseen and unheard—for the path they walk in motherhood.

For mothers who know that grief and loss will never defy the love a mother has for her child.

Wishing my tribe of courageous moms a kind and gentle Bereaved Mother’s Day where you feel your child’s love and the genuine support of moms who see you and understand your heart.

Honor yourself today and everyday. ❤️

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) Awareness Month. A dedicated time to reflect and raise awareness about the unique experiences of the community. It’s a time to honor, educate, and support.

HONOR—We honor our precious babies who live forever in our hearts by speaking their names. We elevate our voices in sharing our stories on our grief and healing journeys. We honor the families navigating life after loss.

EDUCATE—We seek and share knowledge about PAIL in our local and global communities to decrease loss, stigma, and shame.

SUPPORT—We provide empathy, time, and resources in acknowledging the lived experiences of all who have been impacted by PAIL.

Please join the community this month (and everyday that follows) in raising awareness. 👼🏾👼🏾💕

So excited for my colleague Jeanae Hopgood-Jones at Black Angel Mom and her latest publication, a guided journal for angel moms/parents surviving pregnancy and infant loss. For more information, please click the link below.

In January of 2017, I was beginning my IVF journey. I hoped it would work. It was my first try, I was scared of all the needles to come, and slowly trying to forget about all the money we just drop…

So excited to share this resource. My debut book, “From Three Heartbeats to One: A Gentle Companion Offering Hope in Grieving Pregnancy and Infant Loss,” is finally here. 🎉😊

https://www.amazon.com/Three-Heartbeats-One-Companion-Pregnancy/dp/1734048107

I wrote this book to offer hope and support the many women (and their families) impacted by pregnancy and infant loss. This is a book I never knew I would write but a book I so needed in 2007 after the loss of my twin boys.

Pregnancy and infant loss can be so isolating—an unspoken sorrow. And no one should face this loss without adequate support and tools to promote healthy grieving and healing. No one should face this loss without tools to transform in loss and honor their precious baby (or babies).

To honor the countless angel babies, angel moms, and families who have walked this path in loss, please like, share, and support.

Are you ready for the holidays? This is not always a welcomed question.

For many, this time of year is difficult—a frustrating, disappointing, and emotionally-charged time. Particularly, for those grieving a loss.

Thanks to HuffPost for allowing me and colleagues to share a few tips on how to support a friend or loved one grieving during the holiday season.

Please read and share with those who need support.

This time of year can be challenging for someone who just lost a loved one. Here's how you can help.

10/01/2019

Do you have a friend or family member whose baby died? Maybe she took a healthy baby home and months later her son died tragically of SIDS. Or maybe he never got to meet his baby awake outside of the womb because his daughter was stillborn. Maybe you have a friend who suffered a miscarriage
