Calling all artists ages 5-12!!!!!

Join the Children's Vision and Learning Month Contest! This is an international contest put on by the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA) which our doctors and therapists are a part of!

August is Children’s Vision and Learning Month—a time to celebrate the powerful connection between how we see and how we learn. Whether it's reading your favorite story, solving a tricky puzzle, or playing a new game, vision is at the heart of how kids take in and understand the world around them. To help spread the word, we’re inviting young artists to show the world how vision makes learning possible!

This year’s theme is “See Smart. Be Smart!”, and we’re calling on kids ages 5–12 to create a one-of-a-kind drawing that shows how vision helps them learn, play, and grow. The winning design will be featured on our official Children’s Vision and Learning Month t-shirt, and the winner will receive a goody bag, a free shirt, and a spotlight on our website and social media.

Not sure where to begin? In case you need a place to start, please print out this image to color—or let your creativity run wild and design your own!

When completed, submit your picture to marlee@ovdra.org by July 31st! Or bring it to us at The Solution Center. Not only will be send it for the official contest but we will also proudly display it in our office all August long!

We invite you to join our webinar "Visual Roadblocks to Learning”, an educational workshop about vision therapy. This workshop is designed to give an overview of how the developing visual system works. It answers the question, “How can a dysfunctional visual system affect school, work, sports and all areas of our lives?” Parents, adults with vision concerns, educators and other professionals can benefit from this free informational workshop. Workshop attendees will receive a $50 gift certificate to use for future vision therapy sessions or testing (1 per family). Resources can be provided to link attendees with vision therapy practices in their area as well for those not living in Central Ohio. This weekend we celebrated with a Vision Therapy Graduation Party. Graduates of our program got a professional portrait done, a chance to make a graduation cap and other crafts, and celebrate their accomplishments with friends and family. We are so proud of their hard work!!!
