When hospice enters the conversation, it can bring a lot of questions.

In our newest episode of Better Together, Christy Henderson and Susie Wagner share what families often experience during those first conversations about hospice care. From the referral call to the admission visit, they talk about common misconceptions, the emotions families carry, and how our team provides clarity and support from the very beginning.

If you’ve ever wondered what that first step looks like, this episode offers insight and reassurance.

Planning ahead isn’t just about paperwork — it’s about protecting the people you love and making every moment count. 💙

In Part 2 of our Better Together podcast, host and president Steph Cain continues her conversation with Lorie Mount to clear up common myths around trusts, probate, and long-term care planning. They discuss why having a trust doesn’t automatically protect your assets, how Indiana probate really works, and why putting plans in place before a crisis can bring peace of mind to you and your loved ones.

Thoughtful planning allows families to focus less on uncertainty and more on what truly matters — spending meaningful time together.

💙 Thank you, Jennings County! 💙

The Our Hospice Jennings County Gala raised $65,000 to support care for patients and loved ones right here in our community. With over 250 community members coming together, the evening was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we support one another.

Congratulations to Gala Queen Lillian Curry, who raised $14,500, and Gala King Jake Birge, who raised $3,700. Along with Queen Runner-Up Emma Clapp and fellow Royal Court members Katherine Brunner and Hailey Whitehead, the Gala Royal Court raised more than $33,000 in support of Our Hospice.

We are grateful to the Jennings County Community Relations Committee, our donors, volunteers, and sponsors — including title sponsors 914 Hoosier St, Arvin Sango, Inc., and Willow Lake Event Center — whose generosity helps ensure care remains available close to home, including support for ongoing pediatric needs in Jennings County.

Thank you for making every moment count. 💙

Lorie breaks down estate planning into clear, approachable terms, focusing on advance directives, health care decision-making, and powers of attorney — and why having these documents in place can bring peace of mind long before a crisis occurs.

Together, they explore how planning ahead helps ensure wishes are honored, reduces stress for loved ones, and supports our shared goal of making every moment count.
