🤰✨ Expectant moms, the journey of feeding your newborn can feel overwhelming, especially when deciding between and formula. Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach!

Breastmilk is often considered the gold standard for its unique benefits: it’s perfectly tailored to your baby’s needs, packed with essential nutrients, and helps build their immune system. Plus, it fosters a special bond between you and your little one.

However, if breastfeeding isn’t the right fit for you, that’s completely okay! Formula is a safe and nutritious alternative that nourishes millions of babies. The most important thing is that your baby is fed with love and care, no matter the method.

Curious to learn more about the benefits of breastmilk and alternatives? Check out our blog for insights and support groups: https://ow.ly/UXgo50XbR3E

For years, Camara poured her heart into caring for others—until life reminded her that she needed care, too.🩵
Camara’s nursing journey began at a local hospital, where she helped launch school-based health center, and assisted with mobile health unit programs as a charge nurse and health coach for children with chronic conditions. Life changes pulled Camara away from nursing to balance parenting her three children with becoming a full-time caregiver to her mother during her battle with brain cancer.
After navigating seasons of personal loss and exploring different remote work opportunities, Camara has found her home at a Central Ohio Primary Care pediatric practice. What makes COPC different for her isn’t just the patients she serves—it’s the culture of teamwork and support that allows her to thrive both professionally and personally.
“In past roles, I often felt overworked and exhausted. Here, I don’t feel that way. I can go home and still be the mom I want to be, not just a tired nurse at the end of the day,” she shares. At COPC’s Eastglen Pediatrics, she feels supported both as a professional and as a person. “Here, I’m not just seen as a nurse. I’m seen as a mom, a teammate, and an individual,” she shares. The culture of teamwork—where colleagues rally around one another—has restored her work-life balance and allowed her to bring her best self home to her family. She is grateful to be able to be there for her oldest son to move him into college, and being more present at her family’s many sports and church activities in the evenings and weekends.
That support has reignited Camara’s passion for pediatrics. In her role, she provides care for children of all ages, educates parents, and builds trusted relationships that last as kids grow up. “Even on hard days, I want to come back the next morning. Primary care is where my passion is, and this is what I do,” she says.
For Camara, COPC is more than a workplace—it’s a community that values her as a nurse, a teammate, and a person. 💙

Taking the right medication at the right time is so important — but mistakes can happen, especially in low light or when labels are hard to read.

Here are 3 easy ways to protect yourself and your loved ones:

✅ Turn on the lights – Never take medication in the dark or dim lighting.
✅ Put on your glasses – Make sure you can clearly see the label before taking anything.
✅ Read the label carefully – Double-check the name, dosage, and timing every time.

Your safety matters. Take a moment to be sure – it can make all the difference! ❤️

🚩 Attention Parents! 🚩
As your kids gear up for sports and after-school activities, you might be wondering what drinks they should be reaching for. With the rise of energy and sports drinks, it’s crucial to know the facts!

Our registered dietitian, Maddie Gayfield, breaks down the risks associated with these popular beverages. While sports drinks like Gatorade can be beneficial during intense activities, they’re not meant for everyday hydration. On the other hand, energy drinks are a no-go for kids and teens due to their high caffeine content and potential health risks. 🚫

What should your child be drinking? Water is always the best choice! 💧 If your child craves flavor, try infusing water with fruits or opting for flavored water options.

Let’s empower our kids to make healthier choices! For more insights on hydration and nutrition, check out the full article on our website. Together, we can support their health and performance! 💪

About Central Ohio Primary Care

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of primary health care to our patients while maintaining the highest ethical principles.

Our Beginning

Central Ohio Primary Care was established in 1996 when a group of 33 physicians chose to focus more on the quality of patient care they were providing and less on the administrative paperwork. The result was the creation of an administrative support team that gave doctors more freedom to do what they do best - practice medicine.

Patient Centered Care
