Awake/Aware begins this Tuesday (8/26) evening at 7:30pm Eastern.

This online experience is an invitation to pause and let yourself be guided and supported.

The result being a sense of calm, connection to self, and regulation.

Each meeting lasts 45 minutes, at a time in your evening that is perfect for settling into a restful pause before bed.

You can shift that perspective. You can give your body the possibility of your environment feeling safe enough.

Awake/Aware online guided practice classes require little more from you than showing up and listening at whatever level of attention is available to you at the moment.

It’s an accessible practice that creates a space in your experience that allows for the possibility of something different—like a deeper breath, a more solid connection to your body, an ease in your sense of the present moment.

The course discount ends next week (August 18). Sign up before then for $10 off.

Regularly throughout the year, I offer Awake/Aware.

It's an online class with recordings available afterwards.

What is Awake/Aware?

It's 45 minutes of guided practice based on Transforming Touch.

You get weekly online support for your body through directed attention and awareness of the systems that process stress and overwhelm.

Bringing that awareness to these systems allows them to recalibrate and reset, allowing you to find a new experience of the present moment.

That is the beginning of nervous system reset.

Do it enough and your body decides it's ok to stay there. And things start to get easier...maybe your sleep, maybe digestion, maybe the gnarliness you feel towards other people and daily life experiences. Things just feel easier. What a gift that would be to yourself and life in general.

NEXT SESSION BEGINS August 26 and runs to September 23.

Sign up by August 18 for $10 discount. After that the price is $75.

Supporting the body in the present moment to find an experience of ease, of release, of relative safety has effects as varied as the people who come to see me. The offering of regulation specifically works to ease the overwork that your stress organs are having. They're the same organs and hormones for everybody, but just like your fingerprint, what shifts is individual and unique to each person.

Support for physiological overwhelm to move to "whelm" has created change for my clients in the following ways:

▪ finding a different outlook on grief
▪ finding grounding during life transitions
▪ working with a clinician, reestablishing connection to their body that was lost from childhood sexual assault
▪ in collaboration with naturopath, finding relief from vestibular migraines
▪ awakening body-centered awareness of basic needs like thirst, hunger, and rest
▪ experiencing being energized without being overwhelmed
▪ reconnecting with slower internal pace
▪ learning how the physiology of stress manifests for them
▪ gaining tools for self-care
▪ creating enough regulation to manage stressors with more ease
▪ experiencing calm, being centered, being grounded, feeling whole
▪ even shifting the tension held in their eyes creating the need for a new eyeglass prescription (Their visual field went from 2D to 3D!)

Why do we support the kidneys, adrenals and brainstem?

These organs are the first responders to stress. With unrelenting stress or overwhelming stress, they can become habituated to a stress response.

What helps them come out of that habit, and into a more responsive state, is a repeated experience of relative safety.

Transforming Touch supports the autonomic nervous system to find a new normal. The normal it's been operating at, the one that brings people to my office, is one that is creating some issues. Tension, sleeplessness, upset digestion, for example. Basically the symptoms of sympathetic and parasympathetic responses that are over- or under-reacting.

The non-demanding support for the organs of our stress-responses (adrenals and brainstem) begins a process of orienting the body to the present moment.

This orienting provides new information to those organs and their
linked neural pathways, giving them a chance to shift from an
orientation of too much tension or too little tension, to just enough for the present circumstance.

It can seem wild that the body responds to light touch. Unlike Craniosacral Therapy, where there is an intention to influence tissue, in Transforming Touch there is not that intention, but a dedication to being present & aware, accepting what is happening in the present moment.

I want to start by sharing the basic tenets of Transforming Touch.

This gives you an idea of why I do the work the way I do.

•It's about being slow.

•It's about releasing demands on my client's system and arriving only with invitation and possibility.

•It is about allowing for the truly boring experience of things being ok.
