After an internship at the University of Illinois Hospital, Dr. Foster went on to complete her residency there in the Department of Ophthalmology. She then completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Daniel Straka, MD graduated cm laude from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in premedical sciences. He then completed medical school at the University of Toledo where he graduated in the top 5 in his class and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and Phi Beta Kappa honor society. After an internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville, TN. This was followed by a very competitive 2-year ASOPRS fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Ohio State University and Plastic Surgery Ohio/Ophthalmic Surgeons and Consultants of Ohio. Dr. Straka is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also serve as Assistant Clinical Professor at the Ohio State University William H. Havener Eye Institute where he routinely works with residents giving lectures and teaching surgical techniques. Dr. Foster is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the DEA. She has been a Certified Enucleating Surgeon for the Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study. Dr. Foster is licensed in Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Florida, and Arizona. In addition to her work at Ophthalmic Surgeons, Dr. Foster is an Associate Clinical Professor at the William H. She has written and created numerous articles, abstracts, exhibits, and posters and has given a multitude of oral presentations. Her expertise spans a wide array of topics, especially related to oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Foster is a former President of ASOPRS, (American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ). ASOPRS is a society which serves to advance education, research, and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the face, orbits, eyelids, and lacrimal system.
