OSMA’s insurance reform campaign is pushing for legislation that puts patients first and reduces unnecessary burdens on healthcare providers. Going into fall hearings, we need your stories, examples and testimonies to help us advocate for important reforms including:

✔️ SB 160: Prohibits non-medical switching of medications
✔️ SB 162: Limits insurer takebacks
✔️ HB 220: Tackles retroactive denials and prior authorization barriers
✔️ HB 214: Establishes the Prior Authorization "Gold Card" system

📢 If you have experiences to share, please email info@osma.org.

Your voice is vital to shaping the future of healthcare in Ohio. Let’s work together to improve patient care and ease the administrative burden on physicians.

85% of patients agree the bond physicians form with their patients is central to health care. Physicians choose medicine because they want to treat patients, to understand their health care needs and how to best help them, and to provide the care they need to get better.

That’s why physicians prioritize time spent with patients, building trusted relationships that lead to effective care and treatment.

For physicians, building relationships with their patients is what motivates them to become a doctor. Physicians want to spend time with their patients. It’s how they grow, learn, and build healthier communities.

Dr. Elizabeth Muennich shares, “It’s more important than ever for physicians to advocate for keeping patient care at the core of healthcare decisions, and for letting physicians do what we do best — caring for patients and advising on the best course of treatment based on each patient’s unique circumstances.”
