What a great day to share this memory. When I said they should both do snow angels, neither one of them hesitated. 😊

Okay Buckeye fans, let’s root for those Hawkeyes today. We all know how Doc loved his Hawkeyes.

It’s that time of the year to bring out our favorite Elf on the Shelf. ❤️
That morning I come in and he is sitting at his desk trying to be all serious while wearing that sweater. I cracked up. Then I told him he should wear the elf hat and get up on the cabinet. He didn’t even hesitate. He was all in. I get the hat and ladder. He climbs up. It took me a couple of minutes to take this picture because we were laughing so hard. All I could imagine was a patient signing in and seeing their chiropractor sitting on this cabinet dressed as an elf. After I took the picture, he wanted me to bring the ladder back so he could get down. I said I’m good, and I started walking down the hallway. Then we laughed even more because I waited a couple of minutes before I got the ladder.

Today was a final goodbye to Schone's Chiropractic Clinic. Our office is now closed permanently. So many funny memories and good times we had in our office. Patients were more like family than just patients. You knew that Dr. Schone would always be there for your back pain and personal life issues. He genuinely cared about us all. He would certainly make us all laugh. I have funny memories of riding in his truck and he would drive like a crazy taxi cab driver to make us laugh. Or, he would wait for me to come in the building in the morning, and he would stand perfectly still behind the wall. First few times I jumped and we both laughed. Then he would have other people stand with him. I would keep walking and lock him out. Lol. He cracked up when us girls did it to him. Or, he would tell us he was taking us to get hot dogs at the softball field at lunchtime. Then next thing you know, he is changing into his ball uniform while driving on the freeway. He did that a lot (putting his ball uniform on while driving). He may have gotten pulled over by a Johnstown cop while putting on his ball uniform. But, they let him go because they knew Doc. We would make prank phone calls and funny videos. Putting signs on his truck that said honk if you love the Buckeyes. Someone was always getting locked out if they went to the bathroom. It probably sounds like we didn’t work much, but we really did.
It certainly was a rough summer with him mostly out of the office this year. We all never thought it would end. He certainly loved what he did. He always said he never worked a day in his life. I want to thank our patients for being so loyal to him and our office. We wouldn’t have made it this past summer without you. And thank you to his family. Thank you to Lynn for taking great care of him. And thank you Heather Bowers and Sam for not jumping ship. I definitely couldn’t have done it without you guys. II’m going to miss our Schone Chiropractic family. I’m really going to miss Doc. It’s been a great 28 years. Love to you all ❤️.
I posted a picture of my desk finally being cleaned up. 😂

For many many years I would pick up a sheet cake early in the morning to celebrate your birthday. Sadly, this year is different. Happy Heavenly Birthday Dr. Schone.

With tears running down my face, I post this video in remembrance of Dr. Schone. This is a hard post to write. We are going to miss your great advice, your friendship, your jokes, funny stories, but mostly you. I’m pretty sure he would want me to post something funny to make you all smile.
I will do a follow up post with arrangements as soon as things are finalized.

Happy 50th Anniversary Dr. Schone. Such an amazing achievement. At one point in your career you would see 200 people in one day three times a week at the Reynoldsburg office. The Johnstown was 90 per day twice a week working half days. Saturday morning you saw 30 in 2 1/2 hours. So, we can all say you definitely got a lot of people out of pain and back to better health. You have worked countless hours to accommodate your patients. You would come in early and stay late for your patients. You would go to their homes and they would come to your home to get adjusted. You went to nursing homes and hospitals to adjust your patients without charging any fees. You truly love your profession and your patients. I really wish we would be in the office celebrating this wonderful achievement. I really wish that you were not in hospice and your health was not getting worse. Please continue to pray for him.
