“Raising my son has been one of the greatest blessings in my life, but this journey is not meant to be done alone.”

Check out ElevateDD's most recent blog post written by DSACO's Program Coordinator of New Parent Services & Social Media, Courtney Frost!

As we move closer to Mother's Day, hear from Courtney as she shares her "confessions" about what her journey with her son has looked like, and how DSACO has played an important role in it.

“Raising my son has been one of the greatest blessings in my life, but this journey is not meant to be done alone.”

As we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday, we’re honored to share this heartfelt reflection from DSACO: Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio’s Courtney Frost.

In her powerful story, Courtney reflects on the beauty, challenges, and unexpected blessings of raising a child with Down syndrome, and the incredible community she has found through DSACO along the way. Her words are a reminder that while every motherhood journey is unique, no mom should have to walk it alone.

Big hats, big hearts, and a big impact!

This past weekend DSACO welcomed over 100 attendees to our inaugural DSACO Derby Day event at COhatch Polaris!

From start to finish, the afternoon was filled with joy, laughter, and a shared sense of community.

Thanks to your support, we raised nearly $30,000 to help power DSACO’s work serving alongside people with Down syndrome and their families through every age and stage of life.

A special thank you to our self-advocates, many of whom stepped into the spotlight as bartenders and shared their creativity through one-of-a-kind stick horses featured in our live auction.

Thank you to our volunteers, committee members, sponsors, and to TaylorBruck for keeping the energy high as our emcee. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this exciting inaugural event, your energy and excitement was contagious!

We can't wait to continue this new annual event; we'll see you next year!

Another month, another Buddy Walk Team Captain Challenge!

We've had 25 years of impact - let’s build 25 more!

As we celebrate the 25th Columbus Buddy Walk, we’re kicking off a May Challenge to grow our impact before summer schedules take over, and we need YOU to lead the way.

In honor of our 25th year, we’re challenging every team to raise $250 during the month of May. This includes money raised through team registrations, donations and fundraisers!

Every $250 that your team raises during the month of May will get you one entry into a drawing to win a 25th Anniversary Buddy Walk Tailgate Experience. (VIP tailgate spot, tent + tables/chairs, DSACO swag and a $25 gift card!)

We can't wait to see what your Buddy Walk team can accomplish during the month of May!

Lace up your sneakers and join us for a day that brings our community together in support of something bigger than the finish line: the 2FGR Run for Inclusion - benefiting three community partners, including DSACO.

What began in 2009 as a small effort by the running group 2FGR (Two Fat Guys Running) to raise $5,000 has grown into a powerful tradition of impact. Now in its 17th year, this event has raised thousands of dollars to support the developmental disabilities community, and we’re honored that DSACO is once again among this year’s selected organizations.

Join us on Thursday, May 21 for this fun and impactful evening. Choose from a 3k, 5k, or 10k and run/walk for a purpose! Visit https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Dublin/2FGRPresentstheDSACORunforDownSyndrome for more details and to register.
