If you’ve lost a loved one or are interested in learning more about funeral pre-arrangements, please contact us today. At Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, we have a history of commitment. Dollie Whittaker established the Whittaker Funeral Home, located at the corner of East Long Street and Hamilton Avenue. It was operated for three generations by the Whittaker family, becoming a pillar in the community for local businesses and social institutions. In 1969, the company was purchased by the Diehl family, who had owned and operated a funeral home in Youngstown, Ohio. Diehl built the current facility on the site of the original Whittaker establishment, and changed the name to Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service. Diehl, Richard’s daughter, joined the firm in 1995, and is the third generation of the Diehl family to serve the needs of your family. We provide compassionate care and professional service, now and for generations to come. Mission: As funeral service professionals, we are caregivers. We provide care to those who have passed on, as well as those family members who remain. For more than one hundred years, we have provided compassionate and caring services. We will continue to do so and rededicate ourselves to helping you celebrate the lives of those family and friends that were such an important part of your lives.
