It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we inform you of the recent passing of our beloved physician, Dr. Joseph Flood. It is truly a devastating loss and we are all deeply affected by this news.
Dr. Flood devoted his life to the practice of medicine and cared deeply for his patients. He joined the Columbus Arthritis Center family in 2012 and devoted himself to his patients. Previously he practiced at the Central Ohio Medical Group and at Musculoskeletal Medical Services, where he served as President.
Dr. Flood was recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and as a Master of the American College of Rheumatology (MACR) and a Master of the Asia Pacific League of Associations of Rheumatology (MAPLAR).
He contributed to the field of rheumatology nationally as an active member of the American college of rheumatology (ACR) and served as ACR President from 2013-2014.
Perhaps most touching to him were the many cards and letters from his patients, which his wife read to him aloud. These messages of support, prayers, encouragement, and good wishes for his recovery were deeply appreciated. They uplifted his spirits.
Dr. Flood touched many lives and he developed lifelong and meaningful relationships with his students, colleagues, and staff at the Columbus Arthritis Center. He will be truly missed by many of those whose lives he touched.
