Truth is, our bodies need fat for energy, to absorb vitamins, and to protect our heart and brain health. It is the "bad" fat that we need to stay away from, not the "good fat" ✨

"Good" fats are good for your heart, cholesterol, and overall health ❤️

Here are top 7 sources of good fats:
1. Avocado
2. Olive oil
3. Nuts
4. Soy milk
5. Peanut butter
6. Sesame oil
7. Fatty fish like tuna or salmon

5 common causes of hypothyroidism that we need to talk about❗️

1. Autoimmunity
This happens often when our immune system which protects our body from invading infections is in complete overdrive 🥹

2. Poor gut health
This can definitely impair thyroid function. The body can't absorb nutrients properly, which leads to imbalance of good and bad bacteria 🦠

3. High stress level
A high stress level causes our body to produce more stress hormones and less thyroid hormones. The body tends to suffer burn out❗️

4. Too much or too little iodine
Iodine is crucial to produce thyroid hormones. Hence, having the right amount of iodine is important 💯

5. Existing medication(s)

Just a gentle reminder for myself and anyone who may need it ❤️‍🩹

Engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to reduce anxiety, depression, stress, improve concentration and energy, minimize frustration and anger, increase happiness, and more❣️

A lot of times my self care involves music, minus the cat 🐱, plus two loud little girls, and a karaoke machine 🤣💖💖

What are some signs you might have that could be attributed to your thyroid not functioning optimally? 👀

▪️ Weight gain
Weight gain is perhaps one of the first noticeable symptoms of hypothyroidism in patients. This is related to a slower than normal metabolism.

▪️ Excessive fatigue
You may feel extremely tired all the time, no matter how much sleep you get.

▪️ Cold intolerance
A slower metabolism from hypothyroidism may also lower your body heat.

▪️ Depression
Inadequate amounts of thyroid hormones can cause changes in your mood.

They are intense episodes of fear, which can be so powerful that it tricks you into feeling that you are about to faint or about to die, i.e. losing control over yourself in some vital ways.

They can come out of nowhere and completely consume us.

The symptoms of a panic attack are so powerful and threatening that they can convince you that you are in great danger. It convinces you that you aren't safe!

A panic attack can last for up to 20-30 minutes!

They are real. Your feelings are valid. Healing is possible.
