A mother’s love is an unstoppable force. 🔥 On this day, Jeanne Manford and her son Morty took to the streets at the 1972 Christopher Street Liberation Day March with a message of love, unity, and defiance that shocked and rallied the nation: Mothers and fathers IN SUPPORT of g**s. By standing as an ally—as a mother—Jeanne challenged the families of LGBTQ+ people, daring them to say, “I too will fight for my child.”

In the years after, a growing troupe of families and their LGBTQ+ loved ones backed the cause and coalesced into one unstoppable force: PFLAG National.

Love, protection, solidarity—these are the sparks that ignited and fuel our organization. Today and every day, we celebrate our founder’s incredible legacy, and channel her powerful mission to Lead with Love.

While the chaos of the world can make us feel stuck or bring about feelings of despair, we can seek tools to become part of the solution. We still have open slots for our next Navigating New Laws training. While this training focuses on Ohio HB 68, it provides resources and tools that can be used in a variety of populations and situations as we talk about personal risk tolerance, documentation practices, and ethics. This training is approved for 6 ethics hours for social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, chemical dependency, and psychology licenses. New or gently used clothes are welcome regardless of gender label.
We welcome clothing sizes 14, 2X, 38 inches and up. We welcome shoes sizes 8 and up.

SUMMERTIME MEANS SUMMER CAMPS! Camp Colors+ gives LGBTQIA+ youth five full days of fun and inspiring activities, workshops and outings! Camps are offered on Cleveland's East and West Sides. Space is limited so sign up now!

East Side camp activities include Upcycle Parts Shop, Herps Alive reptile rescue, A Resin To Play, Baking for the Soul, music therapy games and drumming, yoga, smoothie making, clay modeling, writing with Lake Erie Ink, arts & crafts and more!
August 4 - 8, 9 AM - 3 PM at Lake Erie Ink, 2108 S Taylor Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118.

West Side camp activities include the West Side Market, Free Hearts fitness studio, Ethlete Lab Academy, pottery making, smoothie making, yoga, arts & crafts, mindfulness activities, an animal visit from Lake Erie Nature & Science Center and more!
