Gratitude is a beautiful thing to pray about, contemplate, and even journal about. But have you ever experienced the sensation of feeling gratitude come alive in your body?
That’s a whole other level of practicing and living in gratefulness. When we choose to honor and live in gratitude, it literally changes our bodies on a cellular level- Your cortisol (stress hormone) drops, serotonin and dopamine rise, and your heart rhythm steadies, boosting immunity and resilience.
Gratitude is literal MEDICINE for every aspect of your being. And in yoga, we practice is constantly in every single class, flow, pose, and breath. There is never a class where gratitude is not fully felt and embodied.
In yogic philosophy, it’s called santosha- contentment. This teaching reminds us to remember we have everything we need and the more time we spend bowing down in gratitude for bodies that move, brains that think, and lungs that breathe, the more vibrant and miraculous our lives will become.
As we journey closer into this holiday season, our intention is to help us all remember the
medicine of this ancient teaching… that we can actually use gratitude as a nervous system regulator. This is why we’re offering our upcoming masterclass to really kick off the holiday season so we can dive in fully from a place of deep peace and regulation- all while cultivating practices that keep us regulated all season long!
