🍰 Life is a little sweeter at Legacy Reserve at Old Town! Today our residents celebrated National Pound Cake Day with a delicious pound cake tasting filled with sweet treats, great conversation, and plenty of smiles. Our residents sampled several flavors and had the tough job of choosing a favorite. After all the tasting and friendly debate, the winning flavor was Red Velvet from Nothing Bundt Cakes! ❤️ Moments like these remind us that some of the best parts of community living are the simple joys—sharing dessert, laughter, and time together.

Our community bus heads out for a midweek shopping adventure every single Wednesday:
🛒 9:00 AM – Depart for Publix
🕙 10:15 AM – Pick-up & return to the community
🛍️ 1:00 PM – Depart for Walmart
🕝 2:30 PM – Pick-up & return to Legacy
From fresh flowers and bakery treats to household essentials and a little “just because” shopping — our residents love turning errands into an outing. 💐🥖

🐝 Resident of the Month – March
🌟 Ms. Victoria 🌟

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Victoria brings warmth, grace, and a sweet spirit to everyone she meets. A devoted wife, mother of three, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of one, Victoria’s legacy of love extends far beyond her beautiful family.
After retiring from Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Victoria began a new chapter when her daughter discovered Legacy Reserve at Old Town. She admits she was a little reluctant at first—but it didn’t take long for her to realize it was one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
Since joining the Hive in June 2025, Victoria has embraced community living with open arms.
In her own words:
“I have been blessed by meeting such beautiful people here. There is such a sweet spirit in the building. You can’t help being touched by it.”
Her favorite part of Legacy? The daily fellowship with friends and neighbors.
“There is always someone to offer a hug, or share a smile. It just makes me feel good being here.”
Victoria, thank you for being such a beautiful reflection of the kindness you witness. Your warmth, faith, and joyful presence bless our community every day.

🐝 Legacy Ledger Live – Quarterly Resident Meeting 🐝
At Legacy Reserve at Old Town, your voice matters.
Today we gathered with our residents for our quarterly Legacy Ledger Live meeting — a time where they can openly share what they see in our community and how we can better serve them in retirement living.
We discussed several improvements currently in progress, including:
✔️ Replacement of our back door
✔️ Irrigation system updates in the terrace area
✔️ Upcoming patio cleanings as the weather warms
✔️ Continued focus on enhancing housekeeping effectiveness
Dining received lots of sweet praise 💛
🥗 Miss Millie shared how much she’s enjoying the improvements to the salad bar in McCullers.
☕ Miss Victoria spoke about the love and attention Barbara pours into the Bistro.
🍽️ And our Dining Manager Angee in McCullers was recognized for making residents feel welcomed and cared for at dinner each evening.
We also highlighted our growing Activities calendar — with more outings scheduled! Some special events may have ticket costs, but our Activities Director Kim can secure tickets and conveniently add them to residents’ monthly bills, making participation easy and stress-free.
Susan also walked through our community budget — explaining what it truly takes to operate and maintain a well-lived, well-loved retirement community. Transparency matters, and we are intentional about stewarding resources to ensure Legacy Reserve remains one of the best maintained communities in Columbus, Georgia.

Mardi Gras in Bernards Bar was overflowing with joy, laughter, music, and the kind of connection that turns neighbors into family. Beads were shining, smiles were everywhere, and the spirit of New Orleans filled the room! 🎭✨

And of course… we couldn’t celebrate without King Cake! 👑🍰
For those who may not know, hidden inside the cake is the tiny baby — a symbol of luck, prosperity, and blessings for the year ahead. Tradition says that whoever finds the baby gets extra good fortune… and might even host the next party! 😉

Let’s just say there were some very lucky residents in Bernards Bar! 🍀💛
