Preconceived perceptions can be powerful…

But they rarely take into account how the space is held.

This trauma-informed container I have been trained to facilitate within, is far different than what I used to believe breathwork was.

From social media, I saw rooms full of 20+ people, sobbing and flailing around in, experiencing trauma releases with no follow up, no integration.

Though this may be what some people are after within a breathwork journey, that’s not the kind of space I feel called to hold.

I prefer the route of creating layers of safety for the nervous system to settle, so you get out of the mind and into the body — To allow space for the regulation, activation and integration of the healing your system innately knows how to do.

If this is something you may be interested in exploring, comment below and stay tuned for the trauma-informed, somatic breathwork journeys I will be hosting in the near future, both virtual and in-person!

What if movement started being about serving your body, rather than punishing it?

How might this shift the way you approach movement…

The ease in which you are able to appreciate your body and all it does for you, rather than criticising it…

The desire to create consistency in routine instead of burning yourself out with dread and overwhelm…

Just a thought…

Save this one for a movement snack this week!

This full body, nervous system reset integrates breath, somatic movement, and stillness in 5 minutes or less.

I might make some people mad with this opinion, but maybe those are the ones who need to hear it most…

Let’s transfer these into raised beds!

What if movement became an act of self-love?

Spring is for culinary creativity and campfires. 🔥🌿

I did miss my toasted sourdough, the crunch is simply unmatched, but it was fun to get creative and try something we never have before!

I got drenched but the snails made it!

Training those kayaking muscles…

Summer is around the corner, we gotta get ready for all those outdoor and water activities!

This is one of my favorite functional exercises that works the whole body, especially the deep core and transverse abdominals– your “corset muscles”

This movement also brings in some breath-to-movement and aids in gut regularity, all at once.

Save this video and add this to your list of movement snacks or as a full-body warm up for your next workout!

A breakfast staple 🙌

And it pairs perfectly with your morning coffee!

The first thing that hits your gut in the morning sets the pace for your entire day, no matter how sensitive your gut is.

Caffeine on an empty stomach spikes the cortisol and sends your body into fight or flight before your day even begins.

A little fiber first thing in the morning can go a long way for maintaining the integrity of your gut lining, balancing blood sugar, and improving digestion and regularity. 💩

Give this small adjustment to your morning routine a try this week and feel the impact it has on your gut!
