We’re honored to share a special OhioHealth Care Spotlight from yesterday’s Columbus Crew match.💛

Annie DiGiammo, BSN, RN, an inpatient nurse who supports OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and Riverside Methodist Hospital, formed a deep connection with Sue Keith, a patient who had recently suffered the profound loss of her husband and then unexpectedly experienced a heart attack herself.

After being taken to Dublin Methodist Hospital for her initial surgery, Sue was eventually transferred to Riverside Methodist Hospital for recovery. Annie felt compelled to be by her side to comfort her both before open-heart surgery and after during recovery.

Touched by the compassionate care she received – Sue was inspired to establish a scholarship through the OhioHealth Foundation in Annie’s honor to benefit the two care sites and generously support mental health for nurses.

Every baby born in our hospitals this Saturday, July 19, will receive an exclusive onesie to commemorate Circle of Honor Night presented by OhioHealth!

In anticipation of the match, players visited parents, their newborns and associates at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Slated to open August 12, the three-story OhioHealth Canal Wi******er Health Center will bring an emergency department, modern medical offices and specialty services to the community.

We’ve made a lot of progress over the last few weeks and are excited to share our journey to the big day.

This Sunday, OhioHealth Grant Medical Center will celebrate a major milestone – its 125th anniversary! On July 13, 1900, Grant Hospital and Nursing School opened in downtown Columbus. Founded by world-renowned surgeon, Dr. James Fairchild Baldwin, it was the largest privately-owned hospital in the country at the time with 30 physicians, 2 operating rooms and 50 beds.

Over the years, the hospital has continued to expand its footprint and services, building a national reputation as a leader in specialized trauma care and surgical excellence.

+ 1961: A new Grant Hospital opened adjacent to the original site.
+ 1982: Grant Trauma Center opened along with LifeFlight.
+ 1985: The hospital changed its name to Grant Medical Center.
+ 1988: Grant became a member of U.S. Health Corporation, later named OhioHealth.
+ 2023: OhioHealth opened Grant Cancer Center.
+ 2023: The “Grant Impact 2028: Access to Care for All” project began – a massive transformation of the medical campus.
+ 2028: Seven-story Trauma and Critical Care Center to be completed.

The future of Grant Medical Center is brighter than ever as we grow with the city – and continue to honor OhioHealth’s mission and Dr. Baldwin’s legacy.

Social stewardship is at the core of OhioHealth’s mission – and we’re dedicated to delivering exceptional care for all and supporting the well-being of our communities.

Our Social Stewardship Report reflects on the positive impact we’ve made in the previous fiscal year. In fiscal year 2024:

🍼 We distributed over 35,000 ounces of donor milk each month through the OhioHealth Mother’s Milk Bank.
⛟ We provided 4,464 mammograms in 50+ counties using three mobile mammogram units.
🫶🏽 Nearly 4,000 OhioHealth associates volunteered 27,660+ hours benefitting 634 local organizations.

Through programs like SARNCO and Wellness on Wheels, and partnerships with local food banks, Columbus State Community College and more, we’ve been able to help improve the health of the communities we serve in a bigger way. Read the full report: ohlth.co/4eAjGW4.

As part of , a nationwide campaign to prevent youth gun violence, OhioHealth gave away free firearm lock boxes last month to promote gun safety at home. Across six different care sites —Mansfield Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Dublin Methodist Hospital and Pickerington Methodist Hospital — we distributed more than 250 lock boxes to the community.

Gun injuries have been the leading cause of death for kids ages 1-17 for the last three years. According to research from the Ad Council, our partner in this greater initiative, 80% of Americans in households with gun owners agree that practicing secure gun storage would reduce gun violence.

More than 300 people came together on Saturday to celebrate cancer survivorship at the second-annual OhioHealth Cancer Survivor Walk & Run.

Participants gathered at the McConnell Heart Health Center to stride in solidarity, meet with our cancer experts, learn about support services and hear from inspiring speakers. It was an empowering community display that cancer doesn’t have to define your future.
