Cudos to Dr. Christine Martinez, and Dr. Maddie Hecker (PGY3) for for traveling to the Dominican Republic to deliver donated corneas to Hospital Elias Santana. Dr. Martinez helped supervise three cornea fellows (photo 2) perform 20 corneal transplants in 2 days.

Many patients have been waiting years for this surgery, and we are hopeful their vision will only improve. Thank you to our generous donors and alumni support that make these trips happen. 👁️🌎🏩

There’s something especially exciting about hearing how quickly LASIK can change everyday life. A recent patient shared her experience after surgery with Dr. David Castellano:

“Dr. Castellano and his clinical team were amazing. Waking up and seeing clearly without reaching for my glasses – feels unreal. I appreciate his superb care.”

Another great outcome for Dr. Castellano and a reminder of the confidence and freedom our team helps patients gain every day.
