Around 10:30 Thursday evening, a small car slowed to a stop in front of the East Town storage buildings in Columbus. An eye witness spotted (what appeared to be) a tall male get out and open the back door, took out a small dog, and threw it a few feet behind the vehicle then hopped back in and sped off. The dog was short haired and brown and ran off in the direction of Casey’s.

***The car below is NOT the actual car. It is just an example of what we believe the car looks like. It was possibly black or dark blue.***

AGC would sure like to know what kind of low life, piece of crap person left this cat next to a storage building in Columbus KS, in 25 degree temperature. The cat was luckily found at 2 a.m. by an AGC volunteer after she heard him meowing. The cat was locked in a filthy cage with a nasty stinky blue blanket with no food and water. This is animal ABUSE and animal NEGLECT and animal ABANDONMENT. If u know who did this or recognize this cat, don't bother to "private message" us. Just give us their name right here on our page and let everyone know what a piece of trash they are for doing this to an innocent cat. We will contact the proper authorities. To top it all off, the cat is sick.

Well, beauty sleep was put on the back burner Saturday morning. Two families were to leave a high-kill shelter in Tulsa at 7 am and travel to rescue in Wisconsin. AGC volunteered to drive the first leg. Of course, that meant heading out from Columbus at 5:00, getting to the shelter no later than 6:45, loading up the two families, get food for the puppies that they would need that day on transport plus grab their paperwork and head for Joplin!! Had to meet next driver at 8:45.
Our passengers: Libby with her 8 babies and Raven with her two black puppies!!
Wishing these two families the best of luck...their future looks very bright!
This was a Mama Tram transport, and we appreciate being a part!!!!

Last Friday we were ready to accept 2 dogs coming in from Tulsa, heading to a rescue in Omaha. We were driving them to Kansas City where the next driver would get them to final destination. Our passengers were a pregnant mother, Alaska, and her 6 month old son, Blizzard. They came from a high-risk shelter, but Alaska will have her babies in a foster home!! Don't worry: Blizzard will go into foster, too!!
Have a good life, Babies...you deserve it!

If anyone has seen a calico momma cat on vicinity of the free store in Columbus, please contact us. She is part of a sweet feral family that we feed every day and she has been missing since November 10th. We are worried about her and want to reunite her with her family. She will have her left ear tipped to show that we have spayed her recently. Thank you!

Our new fosters! Received a call from Mama Tram Transport coordinator about 7 puppies that had been dumped outside of Oswego, KS. They had been dumped like they were garbage!!! They needed a place to hang out until rescue was found and transportation could be arranged.
We are happy to say that they have been tagged for rescue, and they will travel in luxury on Mama Tram October 21!!!! WA HOO!!!

Last Saturday, October 7, the president and a board member of AGC got an early start to KC...5:00 a.m., to be exact. We met at 4:30 and loaded 7 ten-week old puppies plus a mother and her 6 four- week old darling babies into the rescue van and headed out.
Even though all were going to the same rescue in Wisconsin, they were traveling by way of two different transports. The 7 puppies were going on Barb Krimminger's transport, which left Winding River Pet Resort, KC at 9:00. The family was traveling on Mama Tram. We were driving the first leg of MT and meeting the next driver at our meeting place in Kansas City at 8:00.
All these puppies and mother were being fostered by AGC for Joplin Humane Society. The 7 were originally 9 puppies. "Odd Ball and Fruit Loops" were adopted by a board member of JHS and are already in their furever homes!! The 7 that went to out-of-state rescue are now up for adoption. While they all wait for that "someone special" to walk thru the door, they are living it up in foster homes!! We fell in love with each and every one of the 13 babies as well as the mother! She is a dedicated mother, but she has had her last liter!! Needless to say, we at AGC wish them the best life possible.
