2025 Marks Columbus Physical Therapy's 45th year in business and we want to share some milestones on how our business has developed over those years!

In 1980, Terry Sablatura, PT graduated from UTMB Galveston with a degree in physical therapy. Terry was born and raised in Columbus, Texas and is a 1975 graduate of Columbus High School. His goal of becoming a physical therapist was to bring necessary services back to Columbus and the surrounding areas. He recognized early on in his education and career that this was a need in many health care areas. He established and developed programs for inpatients, outpatients, nursing homes, school districts, and home health throughout the Colorado, Lavaca, Fayette, and Austin County areas. Over the course of his career, Terry was involved in over a dozen outpatient clinics, multiple hospitals, and 12 school districts. His innovative thinking and recognition of the need for physical therapy in this area, set the groundwork for much of what is present today.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

If you have United Healthcare Medicare Advantage, prior authorization is now required for therapy services. This means that there may be delays in treatment, or limited visits. If you have a choice, we strongly encourage you to consider choosing a Traditional Medicare plan. This is true for therapy in any location. Open enrollment for Traditional Medicare is October 15 - December 7, 2024.

Congratulations to our recent graduate of the 𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐀 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞!

Trisha completed hands-on experiences to learn methods of treatment for decreasing pain and increasing strength and relaxation.

This extensive course was a comprehensive study of the fundamental knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide safe evidence-based patient care using the aquatic environment.

She has added more tools to our practice that have been effective in helping MANY of our patients in the aquatic setting.

Congrats 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒂!

Help us welcome Tiyonce!! Tiyonce was born and raised in Columbus. She enjoys spending time with her 2 year old daughter and hanging out with family and friends! She enjoys working with patients and watching them get stronger and more independent. We are happy to have her on our CPT therapy team!!
