For those of you who have been waiting for news, Dr. Schaefer's daughter, Elliana, had her sedated echocardiogram before her scheduled surgery and the impossible has happened! Her numbers have IMPROVED and Boston has CANCELED the surgery! They haven't gone as far as to say she will never need another surgery, but as of right now, she is in the clear. Dr. Schaefer and his family want to thank everyone who has been praying and thinking of them during this incredibly stressful time. They are going to head home soon, but plan to continue to be off for the next week to celebrate as a family and try to decompress from what has been a very long 3 months of anticipating another open heart procedure. Thank you all!
