An estimated 14,700 people were injured by fireworks last Fourth of July weekend.

The most commonly injured body parts? Unsurprisingly, hands and fingers.

This Fourth of July weekend, stay safe and keep all your extremities intact by following the recommended safety guidelines for handling fireworks (if you absolutely must).

We love our patients, but we’d rather not have you need us because of a preventable “accident”.

Celebrate smart and stay safe ❤️🇺🇸💙
Happy Fourth!

We accepted the challenge!

Starting tomorrow, our team at Optimus Prosthetics is taking on the 28x28 Mobility Challenge to support So Every BODY Can Move (), a national campaign advocating to make prosthetic care for physical activity more accessible.

If you weren’t aware, most insurance plans don’t cover prosthetic devices designed for physical activity...they’re often deemed “not medically necessary” even though we can all agree that movement is critical for everyone’s health, independence, and quality of life.

Every day we see how powerful movement is and how limiting it can be when coverage falls short, so this challenge is a way for us to live out our mission of lifelong mobility, not just for our patients, but in how we show up as a team.

We’re walking, biking, running, swimming - whatever gets us moving - for at least 28 minutes a day for 28 days because movement shouldn’t be a privilege.

Join our team or donate to support the cause by visiting the link in our bio.

“We celebrate that we’re here, we’re counted, and we live life on our terms.”
– Whitney Doyle, Amputee Coalition

Every April, Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month shines a light on the experiences of individuals living with limb loss or limb differences. This month is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and advocating for better accessibility and support.

At Optimus, we prioritize patients’ lifelong mobility because becoming an amputee shouldn’t keep you from continuing to do the things you love.

Celebrate with us by sharing your story and wearing orange or your favorite Optimus Tshirt every Wednesday this month! Tag us 💙

Welcoming Grant Parthasarathy to our Columbus team at Optimus Prosthetics!

Grant is an American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Texas State University and a Master’s in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Baylor College of Medicine. His experience spans a variety of settings, including VA hospitals and pediatric clinics, giving him a well-rounded perspective on patient care.

Grant’s journey into prosthetics started in high school, where he was inspired while shadowing professionals in rehabilitation and prosthetic care.

Outside of work, Grant loves woodworking, playing ice hockey and softball, and spending time outdoors hiking and camping with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs.

Grant says, “I am looking forward to joining the Optimus team and continuing to provide the patients of Columbus with excellent care custom tailored to their individual needs.”

We’re happy to have Grant bring his expertise and passion to our team and we’re looking forward to seeing the lasting impact he has for our current and future patients in Columbus!

Still too cold to get moving outside?
Try these activities to stay mobile indoors.

Staying active isn’t just about fitness—it’s about freedom.

Research shows that regular movement helps amputees maintain strength, improve prosthetic comfort, and boost energy levels.

Plus, it’s a great way to beat the winter blues and stay motivated all season long.

What is your favorite way to stay active in the winter?

Exciting news!

We’re beyond thrilled to officially announce our support of Grace Norman, 2x Paralympic Gold Medalist, 5x World Champion, and unstoppable adaptive athlete.

Although Grace has been our patient since she was young, we are proud to continue our sponsorship as she shows the world what true resilience, determination, and heart look like.

As her prosthetic provider, we’re grateful to work with her to create the tools she needs to reach new heights in adaptive sports. From training days to the podium, Grace embodies what it means to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible for adaptive athletes and amputees alike.

Here’s to celebrating her past victories and supporting her future triumphs in paratriathlon and beyond - maybe another podium finish in LA 2028? 👀

Follow along for more updates!

We're so glad to see Ben being able to continue doing what he loves!

Ben Stewart is one of our most inspiring athletes. He has never let his disability define him or stop him from following his dreams. Less than 5% of all hockey players play in the NCAA and Ben is doing it with one arm. Not only is he playing college hockey but he also led his team in points last season. Don’t ever let someone tell you that it’s not possible.

Our patients are encouraged and empowered to share their experiences because it helps future patients make the best decision for their prosthetic care.

Below is a recent review from a patient that recently switched to Optimus as their prosthetic provider, and we couldn’t be happier that they have had a great experience with us so far.

If you or anyone you know has a prosthesis that isn’t fitting quite right or is uncomfortable to wear so it rarely gets used and therefore limits their mobility, schedule a free consultation with our office for a second opinion.
