Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is centrally located in Ohio in the state capital Columbus with approximately 70 counties surrounding the hospital from which referrals are made. We are a ninety bed free-standing behavioral health facility that provides a continuum of behavioral healthcare services for adults and senior adults. We provide all our care in a safe and secure environment that is conducive to healing and recovery.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry serves adults age 18 and older of all genders. We designed our IOP using evidence-based therapies and interventions that have proved to promote the best treatment outcomes.

Highlights of our IOP include:

- Typical participation of six to eight weeks
- Supportive group therapy format
- Medication management services
- Flexibility to maintain current lifestyle

Our Story

Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry (OHP) is a 130-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital, centrally located near Downtown Columbus, Ohio. OHP serves the state of Ohio an provides care to adults ages 18 and above. Ohio Hospital consists of four separate and distinct units, including: Adult Behavioral Unit (ABU), Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU), Dual Diagnosis (DDX), and Generations Unit (Geriatric).

OHP provides care for the following mental health conditions:


  • Bipolar disorder

  • Depression
