September is National Recovery Month- a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and progress of everyone on their recovery journey. While we celebrate recovery every day, we're especially proud to be part of the recovery community this month and will be sharing messages alongside others in our community, like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
This week, we're focusing on the importance of health in recovery. We can all strive to be healthier and achieve our wellness goals. Here are some key points to remember and share this week:
We can overcome challenges related to mental health and substance use conditions.
- It is OK to reach out for help with substance use and mental health conditions.
- Making informed, healthy choices can support our well-being.
- It's OK and important to reach out for help, especially if addiction or mental health conditions are affecting our relationships, work, or day-to-day life.
This month, prioritize your needs by setting healthy boundaries, asking for support when you need it, taking time to rest and recharge, and practicing gratitude daily. Every small step you take toward self-care is a step toward lasting recovery.
