Celebrating progress in heart care at AdventHealth Hendersonville. 💙

We recently welcomed back our first heart catheterization patient to celebrate her procedure and ongoing recovery, alongside her family and care team.

Her procedure, performed by Eduardo Balcells, MD, reflects the growing access to advanced heart care in our community — and the lives already being impacted.

As we wrap up Volunteer Appreciation Month, we want to thank the volunteers who give their time to support patients, families and teams with kindness and compassion.

Their presence brings comfort, connection and a sense of peace when it’s needed most.

Our commitment to care goes beyond our walls.
In recognition of Earth Month, the Nurse Practice Council brought a meaningful idea to life through our 2nd year in the Adopt-A-Highway program with our Naples Road Cleanup. Inspired by one of our nurses, this effort reflects a shared belief that healing environments extend into the communities we serve.
From patient rooms to local roadways, our nurses lead with purpose, compassion and action.

Congratulations, Lucinda “Cindy” Roberts, Mammography Technologist in AdventHealth Hendersonville Imaging.

She is receiving the Service Excellence Award for our Own It Service Standard.

Cindy demonstrated remarkable ownership during the mammography go-live at AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at Graham County. Although she normally works at the Imaging location in South Asheville, Cindy makes the four-hour round-trip drive to Robbinsville twice each month to ensure patients have access to mammography services.

During the go-live, when her car broke down, Cindy still made it to the clinic each day by walking uphill from her hotel. She also followed up on these patients from South Asheville, ensuring they received their letters and any additional imaging they needed.

Thank you, Cindy, for truly living our Own It service standard.

Going the Extra Mile to Care for a Patient.

Please join us in congratulating Shannon Lewis, RN at AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine at Medical Office Building for receiving the Service Excellence Award for Love Me.

When Shannon learned that a patient had no heat in her home just as an ice and snowstorm was approaching, she knew she had to help. After attempting to purchase a space heater and finding they were sold out, Shannon delivered the heater from her own office to the patient’s home and brought a Bible for encouragement.

Her kindness and compassion reflect what it means to love our patients like family.

Congratulations, Shannon, and thank you for living our service standards every day.
