🌟 Compassion in Action 🌟

At AdventHealth, our service standards guide everything we do. Today we’re recognizing Mary Ann Blanton for truly living out our “Love Me” standard. When a patient’s husband couldn’t get his usual meal before café closing, Mary Ann didn’t hesitate to offer her own meal so he could continue his daily dinner tradition with his wife. Her selfless act is a beautiful example of our “Love Me” service standard in motion. Thank you, Mary Ann, for showing us what whole-person care truly looks like. 💙

Hope. Healing. Her Story.
Maureen is a nurse, a wife, a mother - and a two-time breast cancer survivor. Her cancer journey began at a teaching and research hospital, but when she received her second diagnosis, she was leading the AdventHealth Hendersonville nursing team, where whole-person care and faith-based healing helped her rediscover strength and peace.

Early detection through routine mammograms gave Maureen a fighting chance. Her family, nursing team and friends stepped up to help her carry the weight of battling cancer and still being Mom, a trusted leader and friend.
Today, Maureen shares her story to remind every woman: you are not alone, and you are stronger than you know.

A Year Later: The Storm Passed, But the Healing Continues

1 year ago, Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, leaving behind devastation unlike our community had seen in centuries. But it also began what has grown into an incredible story of rebuilding with the healing that is all around us.

At AdventHealth, we believe healing goes beyond medicine. It’s found in connection, a community lifting one another, in faith and in the unwavering spirit of WNC.

We are so thankful to be part of a community that joins us in choosing healing and hope.

Because together, we are —and together, we continue to heal.

This week, AdventHealth is honored to join our community in recognizing the courage, compassion, and resilience that carried us through the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. At the “Heroes of Helene: Honoring Recovery & Resilience Together” event hosted by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and Explore Asheville, we pause to remember and to uplift those whose service sustained hope.

Standing with First Responders, Health Care Workers & Community Builders

In the wake of the storm, first responders, linemen and women, health care professionals, and so many volunteers showed up — through long nights, dangerous conditions, and endless challenges. At the Heroes of Helene gathering, we join in publicly honoring these “everyday heroes” whose steadfast service are rebuilding our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to:
The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, Explore Asheville and partner organizations for hosting this meaningful event.

Every first responder, restoration worker, and volunteer whose early efforts anchored safety and recovery.

The health care teams — inside and outside AdventHealth — who remained steadfast under pressure.

The AdventHealth CareCrew members who gave of time, heart, and hands to fill backpacks and bless students.

Our entire community of supporters, neighbors, and friends walking this journey with us.

As we gather under the autumn sky on September 25, we recommit ourselves to serving courageously, caring compassionately, and working together toward wholeness. May the stories of our heroes inspire us all to be resilient stewards of hope in the days ahead.
