Today we remember Ms. Mary Duncan, a beloved volunteer and benefactor whose warmth and generosity blessed our community. Our hearts are with her family and friends as we celebrate her remarkable life.

Earlier this year, AdventHealth Polk and The Hospital Foundation celebrated the accomplishment of long-time volunteer and benefactor, Ms. Mary Duncan. Today we ask you to keep Mary's family and friends in your prayers as they cope with her passing. Mary's warm smile and friendly greeting were a blessing to everyone she met.

This Christmas, 66 children in our community will feel the warmth of generosity — thanks to you.

We started with 50 sponsorship cards. Within days, team members kept stopping by asking how they could help bless a child this season. Our friends at The Storehouse sent 16 more cards, and those were claimed just as quickly.

What stood out wasn't the number — it was the joy.
Team members shared photos of the toys they picked, teamed up with family and coworkers to meet wish lists and talked about wanting each child to feel cared for. That spirit of giving is who we are at AdventHealth. It’s how we extend Christ’s healing ministry in simple, meaningful ways.

To every person who sponsored a child: thank you for helping our community feel whole — body, mind and spirit — during a season when love and hope matter most.

We're celebrating nurse, Hannah Broussard, RN, for bringing peace and comfort when it mattered most.

When a patient transitioned to comfort care on October 10, Hannah Broussard stepped in with compassion, clarity, and calm. She immediately advocated for the patient’s dignity and coordinated with our palliative care team to ensure a seamless, thoughtful experience for everyone involved.

Hannah’s care went beyond clinical excellence. She met the patient’s needs with both medical and non-medical support, and her reassuring presence helped create a sense of peace in a moment that was anything but easy.

She also offered emotional and spiritual support to the patient’s family—helping them understand and embrace the journey with grace and courage.

Hannah truly lived out our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Her actions turned a moment of sorrow into one of sacred dignity.

Tiffany has cared for patients in Polk County for years, and she’s returning to serve the community she calls home. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she partners with patients to create realistic, meaningful care plans that are always focused on helping each person feel whole in body, mind and spirit.

“I see you, I hear you, and I’ve got your back,” she shared. “My goal is to understand what matters most to you and walk alongside you.”
