Catheter directed thrombolytic therapy is a interventional, nonsurgical treatment for acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) that dissolves blood clots. These clots typically occur in your leg, thigh or pelvis but can travel. Interventional radiology can diagnose and treat many conditions that can cause infertility, like varicocele, an enlarged vein in a male's sc***um with abnormal blood flow that may cause pain, swelling or infertility. Varicocele embolization uses imaging guidance and a catheter to place tiny coils and/or a liquid substance in a blood vessel to divert blood flow away from a varicocele.
