It's October: AAC Awareness Month! AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is the term for all forms of communication (other than speech) that people use to express their thoughts, needs, wants, and ideas. This is the perfect time to highlight the fundamental importance of the Communication Bill of Rights.
These 12 rights assert that every person has the right to communicate in all parts of their lives, promoting full participation. The 12th right is especially critical: "The right to individualized, working augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and other assistive technology (AT) at all times."
AAC isn't a privilege—it's a human right that ensures dignity, respect, and full partnership. This month, let's commit to upholding these rights for all communicators! If you or someone you know needs AAC, contact us!

All people with a disability of any extent or severity have a basic right to affect, through communication, the conditions of their existence.
