If we're too busy to prepare healthy meals and exercise, we're too busy. Otherwise, sickness will force us to slow down and take better care of ourselves.

Are you thinking about buying the latest protein powder? Think before you buy. Why? (1) Most Americans don't have a protein deficiency because we eat meat, often in excess. (2) If we eat meat, it's unlikely we need extra protein. (3) Although they are convenient, protein powders can get pricey. (4) Protein powders contain calories, too. If consumed in excess, we will gain weight. (5) Even vegetarians/vegans can obtain adequate protein from nonmeat sources alone. (6) Too much protein can damage our bodies, particularly our kidneys. (7) Whole, natural foods are always better than supplements. Plus, they taste better. The best protein sources are lean meats such as poultry, beef and fish, peas, beans, nuts, Greek yogurt, milk, eggs and cheese. With all these yummy choices, who needs a powder?

Monday is the start of a new work week for a lot of people. Oftentimes, Mondays are filled with stress. We know stress is bad for our health. However, God wants us to experience rest everyday, not just the weekend. Let's find our rest in God today, knowing that God is with us and will take care of us. "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these" (Matthew 6:28-29).

Organic. Free Range. Non-genetically modified. All of these terms are efforts to help us choose the healthiest food for our bodies. However, God's plan for health is to trust Him with our health. "And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee" (Exodus 23:25, KJV).

When it comes to our health, a good offense is the best defense. It is always better to prevent disease than to treat it. However, the good news is that we have the Great Physician who is able to keep us healthy AND. heal our diseases. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5, KJV). Happy Easter!
