🎯 We had such a wonderful time at the "Happy Hikers Club: Try-It Archery" event at Scioto Grove Metro Park! 🏹

We couldn’t have asked for better weather as friends, families, and first-time archers came together for an afternoon full of fun, learning, and laughter. A special thank you to our STEM Discovery Team for providing the Take-Home Archery Kits! These kits made it so easy for participants to continue practicing at home and really added an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

The day was extra special as someone even celebrated their birthday by joining us at this event! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who came out to make this event so memorable.✨

🎯 Ready, Aim, Adventure! 🎯

Join us at Scioto Grove Metro Park for a FREE family-friendly day of archery. Families of all abilities will learn the basics—range rules, stance, and aim—then try out a real compound bow at the archery range. The YMCA STEM team will also provide a fun take-home mini-archery activity so the experience doesn’t end at the park!

We wanted to share that Adaptive Sports Connection will no longer be able to join us at Outdoor Inclusive Adventures this year. While we’ll miss having them, we’re so grateful for the many ways they continue to support inclusive recreation in our community.

Boating will still be available thanks to Franklin County and Columbus Metro Parks. Please note, however, that these boats are not adaptive. With fewer boats this year, wait times may be longer, so we encourage you to sign up for your boating timeslot early when you arrive at the event.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful day of outdoor fun with you all!

Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, in partnership with the YMCA of Central Ohio, are excited to host a day of outdoor fun designed for children, teens, and young adults of all abilities. This event is all about bringing people together to build connections and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer. 🌳☀️
Families can look forward to a variety of activities, including adaptive kayaking/canoeing, crafts, sensory play, nature-based fun, and opportunities to try new things in a welcoming and supportive environment.
