Your eyes have a built-in light control system, your pupils!
Just like a camera lens, they expand and shrink to let in just the right amount of light. But too much exposure to bright light or UV rays can strain this delicate system.
Wearing UV-protective sunglasses helps shield your eyes and keep your vision sharp, no matter how bright it gets.

Kids eye examinations are too important to put off.
Children with uncorrected vision conditions or eye health problems face many barriers in life…academically…socially…and athletically. Proper eye care can break down these barriers and help enable your children to reach their highest potential.
Did you know?
One in four elementary school age children have an undetected vision problem and good eyesight is crucial for learning.
Common vision problems for children
If your child is diagnosed with a problem at their eye exam, most likely it will be nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or a combination.
However, there are some other less common conditions that tend to show up in school-aged children such as:
Amblyopia (also known as lazy eye) in which in which normal vision can’t be achieved, typically in one eye
Strabismus (also known as crossed eyes ) in which the eyes don’t maintain proper alignment
Convergence insufficiency in which the eyes don’t work together during focusing up close when reading or doing close work
When deciding whether or not to take your child for an eye exam think about this:
It is estimated that 80% of children with a learning disability have an undiagnosed vision problem.
Early diagnosis and treatment of children’s vision problems is a necessary component to school readiness and academic learning.
Vision screenings are not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor.
Early testing for vision problems is critical to preventing learning disabilities or, in some cases, significant visual impairment in children.
