🛳️ ABA therapy is like a steady lighthouse for kids on the autism spectrum — guiding their development safely through the waves of life. It’s based on evidence and ethical practices, not stormy myths.  When delivered by trained and ethical professionals, it focuses on positive reinforcement and individual needs—not punishment or harm. The goal is to improve quality of life, not to change who someone is. like a skilled captain avoids rocky waters, certified ABA therapists are trained to avoid harm and steer toward meaningful, positive change! ⚓️

🚨 We Need Your Help – It Only Takes 2 Minutes! 🚨

The SOS team is calling on our friends, families, and colleagues to stand with us in advocating for Ohio kids with autism.

Right now, outdated insurance policies are blocking children from accessing critical therapies like ABA and speech. Families are running into age caps, hour limits, and visit restrictions that have nothing to do with clinical need — and everything to do with broken systems.

We’ve seen firsthand how these barriers delay progress and harm families who are already doing everything they can. So we’re raising our voices — and asking you to raise yours.

➡️ Here’s what you can do:

Please send a quick email to the following state legislators to help us stop age, hours, and visit caps within employer health plans and fix access problems within Medicaid. The message is already written for you — just personalize it if you’ve got a story to share. The best part? These changes won’t cost the state a dime.

Email subject line: Please Support Autism Amendments in Budget for Insurance-Funded Therapies.

Body of Email: Please support and submit the autism amendments from the Ohio Autism Insurance Coalition to the Legislative Service Commission. These amendments do not have a fiscal impact on the state budget.

Share a short personal statement if you faced insurance challenges in accessing therapy for autism or other experiences where you have seen challenges.
